Liar Staff, Don’t Trust Them. If you love your car, don’t come here. Bring only SUVs if you really must come.

I only went after calling to check if there are any potholes, or anything that might be a problem for lower cars. He said, its perfect road, Ferrari can also come.

When I arrived, there is no road, it’s rocks, and leftover of a road destroyed by lorries. I got videos of vios even jumping on the holes at low speed, and saw SUVs struggling. We were stuck halfway so could not reverse either and had to go down. Showed the staff the road, they lied again. And showed us photos of sports/supercars from years back. And “pretended like” the road was alwahs like this. I noticed a few friends sports cars there, and checked with them, and found out that there was a paved road few years back and I have some photos too.

We drove really slowly and angled. After driving in highway, our front tires kept losing pressure. We went to check leaks, there is no puncture. Clearly our front rims got damaged, and we are not sure what else underbody damages are there. We even heard some rough suspension sound from rear right.

When we confronted; they showed us photos cars from years back, when there was a road here. Without even telling us there was a road before; acting like it was how it is now. Thank God, we found photos from some friends, that before there was actually a paved road. And now there’s potholes so big, even SUVs jump at slow speeds.

Honestly, the staff here are justt liars — do not trust anything they say. This experience was frustrating from start to finish. On top of that, the food was disappointing — the chicken was dry, the sauce served with it was cold, and even the drinking water had a strange chemical taste. This visit was frustrating not only because of the poor food quality but also due to the wrong information given beforehand. I really hope the management takes this seriously and is more honest with future customers. We deserve a safe and decent experience, not empty...

A Hidden Gem in the Hills – Tentent Cafe & BBQ is an Experience, Not Just a Meal

If you're looking for a place that blends flavor, atmosphere, and exclusivity, look no further than Tentent Cafe & BBQ in Genting Sempah. Tucked away like a well-kept secret, this spot feels less like a restaurant and more like a private club for food lovers.

From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the setting. Surrounded by lush greenery and elevated just enough to offer sweeping views of the hills, the ambiance was serene and refreshing. Whether you're there for a daytime meal or dinner under the stars, the view alone is worth the visit—but the food? That’s where the real magic happens.

Every dish we tried was bursting with flavor, grilled to perfection, and clearly made with both skill and passion. The BBQ options were standout—tender, smoky, and seasoned just right. You can taste the quality in every bite, and there's a satisfying balance of hearty and refined in the menu. It's not just "good food"—it's food that makes you pause and go, "Wow."

The vibe is intimate and laid-back, like you’re part of a members-only getaway without the formality. It’s the kind of place where you lose track of time, laugh a little louder, and linger a little longer. Perfect for a special gathering, a relaxed celebration, or just treating yourself to something exceptional.

Tentent Cafe & BBQ is more than just a dining destination—it's an escape. We're already planning our...

Hidden Gem on the Way Back from Genting!

On our way back from Genting, we stumbled upon this hidden gem and decided to take a quick pit stop. To our surprise, it turned out to be a fantastic find! Since the place offers a camping option nearby along with a restaurant, we decided to have our breakfast here—and it was absolutely worth it.

Food & Drinks

We ordered quite a few dishes (as shown in the pictures) along with some coffee and milkshakes to kickstart our day. The Maggi was a standout—flavorful, well-prepared, and served in a generous portion, easily enough for two people, especially for a breakfast meal. The enoki fried mushrooms were another highlight; crispy and delicious, though they cooled down quickly due to the weather.

Ambience & Atmosphere

The setting of this place is what makes it truly special. It offers breathtaking views of the hills, making it a perfect spot to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal. The rooftop seating is a must-try if you’re visiting, as it allows you to soak in the scenic beauty while enjoying your food.

Overall Experience

This place is an excellent stop for anyone traveling between Genting and KL, whether for a quick meal or a more immersive experience with the camping option. The combination of good food, stunning views, and a peaceful ambiance makes it a place worth visiting again. Highly...

A Scenic Culinary Stop at Tentent Cafe & BBQ, Genting Highlands On our caravan journey from Kuantan to Penang, we found a delightful dining spot in the cool climes of Genting Highlands — the Tentent Cafe & BBQ. Nestled amidst the refreshing mountain air, this cafe offered a much-needed break and a unique dining experience. As soon as we stepped into Tentent Cafe & BBQ, the cozy ambiance and the warm welcome by the staff made us feel right at home. The interior of the cafe, with its rustic and relaxed decor, set the perfect mood for a leisurely lunch. One of the highlights was the breathtaking view from the cafe. Dining while overlooking the lush greenery of Genting Highlands added an extra layer of enjoyment to our meal. It was not just about eating but also about relishing the moment and the scenery. Service was prompt and attentive, with staff members ensuring that our dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. In conclusion, Tentent Cafe & BBQ is a must-visit for anyone traveling through Genting Highlands. It offers not only delicious food but also a chance to unwind and take in the stunning views of the highlands. It was an ideal stopover that added a memorable chapter to our road trip.

This cafe is quite hidden from the main road heading down from Genting Highlands. Faster a bit than one will miss the junction turning in. Then drive about 200m through a gravel road to reach this campsite. The biggest building itself has two-storey - ground floor is pet-friendly while the first floor is where the camping-themed design area is. From 10am-6pm only cafe food ie. Local, Indonesian & western food are available. Hotpot and BBQ selections start after 6pm. It is best to be seated upstairs as the sunset view can be mesmerizing. Ordering is by QR code. ◾BBQ - using small grill similar to Japanese tansho, there are many selections of meat - chicken, lamb & beef; as well as seafood - we ordered their bamboo clams, octopus and prawns. ◾Fried chicken wings & chicken popcorns served as good starters while waiting for the meat to be cooked. It was fun seeing everyone trying to squeeze their choice onto the small grill. The only downside is that one's cloth & hair would reek of smoke at the end of the meal. Food-wise not so outstanding as there are better places in KL/PJ that offer this,
