•••First of all, this is not a Michelin Star restaurant, we didn't have higher expectation in this local coffee shop , just give it a try as this place awarded as Michelin Guide . Awarded as a Michelin Guide food stall or coffee shop, at least the standard must be there, I guess so. What do you think ? Let's share my first time experience here. We queued at the ckt counter there to order ckt, then we found out they serve other food as well besides ckt . So we name out the food we wanted to order from the menu that stick in front of the counter . This little young girl hand us the menu to take order by ourselves. That's fine, probably she is busy to take care of other orders to avoid food delay . But at least, talk nicely and check again our order when we r done. She never repeat the order for us. Its fine if she understands the orders we had made. CKT took about an hour plus to be served while we kept waiting with long neck see how messed up the way they serve the food to the wrong tables, or can't even find the table. Time wasting over here. Beverages served quite slow too although is just simple drinks. We ordered 3 herbal teas here, but the herbal tea is not a cook herbal tea, it's instant. Secondly we ordered the ice kacang too but didn't serve yet after 30mins, then my friend went to counter to check out ice kacang order because we probably wants to add on order while waiting for the food. Found out they have lack communication between the food order incharge person and the beverage and steam counter at the back. Because no more ice kacang they never inform customer to change to other desserts until customer check with them. This happen should or can be avoided, as a Michelin Guide awarded, basic standard must be there, isn't it ? Coming up our two steam food finally served after 25mins. Lady's fingers was food, fresh n taste good. 👍, next is the octopus 🐙, taste good too for us . Just the price with this portion is not compatible. Overall , steam food for these 2 items were good for us. Desserts we order peach gum rm6 each . Taste simple. Lastly our ckt finally served after checking our orders multiple times with the counter. For us, it taste ckt , taste not bad , but nothing really special about it. Probably this place is just simply famous of their "Charcoal Duck Egg" ckt, regardless the ingredients inside. Just don't expect much, treat it as a normal local food stall with ckt , and goes with people-friendly price, that's...
Read moreWe reached the restaurant on weekend at about 8pm. There were plenty of parking spaces at the roadside. There was no queue time for the table. We chose the airconditional seating.
First of all, we needed to order at the fried koay teow stall. Serving within 20 minutes, although the server said waiting time was 45 minutes. Fried koay teow was delicious but not that great. It had wok hei but not enough. Prawns were too small and had too few ingredients. It's just slightly above average. The skills were normal only. RM7 per serving. 3 stars
We needed to collect an order form from the fried koay teow stall for drinks and side dishes but very strage, the drinks and side dishes were not belonged to the fried koay teow stall. We were told to bring the order form back to our table and fill in. Then, another server would come to our table to collect the order.
The side dishes octopus was the star of the night. It was very special, fresh and juicy. We never try before such a delicious octopus. RM25 wasvaluede for money. 5 stars
The side dishes steam lala with onion ginger was delicious. The sauce was so addictive. RM28 per serving was value for money. 5 stars
The four fruit desert 四果汤 at RM10 per serving was the best we tried so far of its kind. The ingredients were so rich and many varieties. The soup was not too sweet and just nice. 5 stars
We came for fried koay teow of Michelin but ended up...
Read moreThe Fried Koay Teow is pretty nice here. Fried with charcoal, it's more fragrance than the normal ones. The "wok hei" is just right as well, but not too much to the extend of making your stomach feels uneasy n make u feel heaty after eating it. There's also additional ingredients like duck egg pouch, mantis shrimp, cockle, etc you could request to be added into your Fried Koay Teow as well. (with additional cost of course) If you don't felt like adding the ingredients they have, you could still order fried chicken and fries from the stall just outside of the shop (I usually do so lol n cuz of the wait elaborated below) The drinks r pretty nice too, personally I like the winter melon (wish they threw in more shreds tho) There's some downside here tho like since it is fried with charcoal, it is bound to take more time to be delivered than normal Fried Koay Teow. Hence, it's wise that you don't go there when you're very hungry cuz the wait might annoys you. But if you don't mind spending a bit more extra, you could always order fries and fried chicken from the stall outside I often order RM 1 of fried chicken neck n RM 2 fries aside from Fried Koay Teow with duck egg pouch. Also, your order might get messed up from time to time or forgotten, so it's best you emphasize what you want clearly or ask if they've forgotten your order when you saw ppl that order later than u have already...
