联芳海鲜楼 Luen Fong Restaurant — Restaurant in Perak

Just had a dinner in here with group of 20 family members occupying 2 tables, prior to that appointment had been made. Long waiting for the food to be served and it only served for one table, the other still have to wait, food served rice not served with no condiments we had to keep reminding the waiters. After all waited for almost two hours, one table serving left with 2 dishes, the other still left with 4, 5 dishes, the dishes served one by one like having fine-dining, 2 tables as a group but dishes wasn't served at the same timing yet portion also different. Eventually we cancelled the remaining dishes, the restaurant owner came to explain "Our chefs have been cooking since this morning 11am". we were like, huh??? Can this be a reason? yet attitude no good no sincerity and not even apologies for their bad lousy service and food. The restaurant is screwed up and messed-up, no coordination not organised. I could see a lot of tables still waiting for their dishes while having their meal. The boss is rude, he even showed annoying face with impatient voice when we went to the counter make payment and check for final bill amount. Overall the experience is bad, the food taste just relatively ok cause I only managed to taste 4 dishes the rest was cancelled. Price is at high side, not...

Type: Chinese Restaurant Signature: Big Head Prawns 🦐

Luen Fong is one of the most popular seafood restaurant near Kampung Tanjung Tualang. Overated restaurant as food is really so so only. I have been to this restaurant many times.. And I must say the food quality is very inconsistent. This visit... The food was quite bad.

Anyway tried the Lala in Supreme Soup 3 🌟 but the soup is tasteless and the lala is overcooked (despite telling them not to). Also tried the Yam (Fatt Poot) with Sweet and Sour Pork 3.5 🌟.. Well the Yam is dry but (not crispy)... That said the sweet and Sour pork is 4 🌟.. This dish saved the day.

Also ordered their Signature Fried rice 3.5 🌟 which was ok... With some wok Hei but guess we can find much better fried rice elsewhere. Finally we waited for the Signature Prawn dish... They were out of stock for Big Head Prawns but had (Ming Har).. Another type... Well the dish was ok 3.5 🌟 but the taste was just not right... Maybe due to higher expectation for this legendary restaurant.

Generally we didn't enjoy the lunch here and was even contemplating doing a tapau (takeaway) from other restaurants to compare.

Food and taste: I would say the taste is good. Ordered two types of fresh water prawns. Salted egg prawns and dry fried prawns. Both tasted good and it's finger licking good. Mud crab cooked in chili gravy (sweet and spicy) isn't really good. Not aromatic as i think this is not their speciality. Don't order it.

Price: not too expensive as it costs RM 90 per kg for medium size prawns and the same for mud crab.

Environment: it's clean and well lit. The ambient is nice.

Service: average. No menu which is against the law and no body cares since most of the restaurants dont have it. You need to exercise patient if you are hungry as the waitress will tell you a list of menu and if u ask for repetition, she will get a little upset. We were told to listen properly in a little angry tone. I personally think this can be avoided by having a menu.

Cleanliness and toilet: the toilet is very clean and no stain. The surrounding is clean and no used tissues or food on the floor.

dining experience is good with the good taste of various style of cooking. Cleanliness makes it comfortable. But I think the service and menu should be improved for better...
