Would not consider this a complete padang restaurant. A lot of dishes was missing to qualify this as a padang restaurant. Dishes such as rendang daging, gulai kapau, gulai tunjang, gulai tambusu, sambal lado hijau/merah to name a few that were missing. Nevertheless, the rendang ayam kampung is superb, authentic padang taste, gulai ayam and udang is also nice. Pls insist of individual plate of rice as this is making more sense. They charge 15 ringgit for semangkok besar nasi, but can barely enough for 5 hungry adults. In terms of pricing it is very reasonable for ayam kampung. Rendang ayam kampung recommended. Not much option of sayur dishes. One important note, the place opens 1.30pm sharp. We arrived around 2 pm, dishes like sambal udang petai already gone. And they don't serve individual nasi campur plate, must be serve or hidang in Malay. You qué, pick your dishes, they put in a serving tray and off you go. Another very important note, term CASH only. No...
Read moreMy husband’s family is related to the owners of this restaurant, which is how I was introduced to this place, and we have also tasted the real Padang food from his kampung in Padang and Bukittinggi, and various nasi padang/minang places around Klang Valley. Andri makes the best nasi padang, hands down. While his dendeng is not my type (his is thick, I prefer crispy like salero negori), his gulai ayam and ketam and udang is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ and sambal udang petai. And ayam kampung goreng. And that crispy fried fish like ikan bilis besar nipis. And the sayur. And kerabu. And the free cold tea.
This is our mandatory pit stop before and after heading north-bound. They open at 1:30pm, so you’ll have to reach early. Sometimes they just happen to be closed (my ex boss has had no luck over the past few years) and you just go home crying of hunger. But crying makes you a stronger person, and you will be strong because you need to live another day to eat Andri...
Read moreIt is easy to find because of the stall located near the road. The food was okay, but the fried chicken a bit small.
I don't know how the system worked precisely, but we need to order at the food counter, then after I ordered and picked my rice and kuah+sambal, I chose my place, and one of the staff send the chicken hotly cause they will serve only if there's an order and please note they will not change chicken part unless you tell them before the chef fry it.
Ha bout drinks, I think there's only one choice of drink cause the staff sent a small jug of teh o ais kot (rasa tawar, warna light chocolate) and seriously the staffs there are not so friendly, and one of the staff did not such a kind of face expression, so I didn't ask more question just to have a...
