What more can we say about a restaurant serving varieties of lauk pauk (side dishes) Perak Malay-style, to accompany a plate of steaming hot rice for lunch@brunch, except that it is tasty and good. The main attractions for this particular establishment however are the grilled fish smothered with delicious red hot marinade plus a wonderful cicah air asam (spicy tamarind sauce) to dip the pieces of fish into, and the rare local delicacy of gulai kawah daging tetel umbut pisang (beef with young tender banana shoot@inner stem in coconut gravy). Apart from that, they served varieties of other dishes that can commonly be found in any nasi campur (mixed rice) place. They also served assorted drinks to quench the thirst but one of the most delicious is their teh-o ais limau (iced lime tea) which taste uniquely like sour plum drink. Highly recommended for those travelling to or through Tapah but the place is a bit crowded during lunch hour and the grilled fish and beef gravy is usually finished by 2pm.

Situated in a strategic location (exit/entry from expressway and beginning of Tapah road into Cameron Highland), high traffic volumn here. The food is okok, chicken rendang tasted blend. I think they boiled the chicken in advance and just put into the rendang so to speed up the cooking process. A positive here is their selection of dishes. Many to choose from, and the service is very fast. Price also reasonable, so I don't mind to drop by again if nearby and too hungry to find other food stall. There's a fried champedek stall by the corner too that sells overpriced fried fritters and champedek. I'll skip it.

Hey, it was an unfortunate event that we found this restaurant. We searching for place for lunch and found this restaurant. The place was packed with people. The worker keep assisting us find place to sit down and told us nicely and suggested lauk pauk there. Even there was a lot of people, but everything is just manageable and proper. Glad we found this restaurant and looking foward to go there again. Thank you D'Ruby Restaurant

I'm not from Tapah..but whenever i travel to the north or south through the NSE, rather than stop at Tapah R&R, i will exit the Tapah toll plaza just to have a good local roti canai & teh tarik breakfast. Located just 1km from the tapah toll exit. The only restaurant selling roti canai for breakfast at Gerai MDT Taman Tapah..fluffy, buttery & flaky roti canai..nice teh tarik.. variety of local food ikan bakar, gulai tempoyak.. gulai kawah.. freshly made.. cheap price. Very kind & friendly owner. Fast...
