reasonable amount of wait time for food to arrive. price was reasonable too, we had: 1 kembung bakar 14 RM 1 talapia bakar 25 RM 1 pucuk paku lemak 7 RM 2 nasi putih at 2.5 RM each 1 ABC 6 RM 1 telur dadar 2 RM
food tastes good. the sambal on the ikan bakar was tasty but more importantly the fishes are cooked fresh, even a noob like me could tell. the talapia though was a bit tasteless but it is easily fixed by slathering the fish with lots of their tasty sambal, which they do provide enough of.
the ABC was OK, enough sweetness, could use more of choc syrup, and more of the kacang2 and kacang merah and stuff.
staff was attentive, i asked for the ABC to be sent to us after we're done with our meal and they almost immediately asked if we're ready for our ABC after we've finished our meal, i appreciate that a lot.
as for atmo, all i can say about the internal deco is that it is present. i see 2 cassette aircond hanging but the temp is not as cold as i expect but the shop has ample fans to keep us breezy, though i would much prefer no breeze and only airconditioning while eating due to long hair but that's just me. the store is right next to the lake so that's a plus. the sun setting next to some royal's home was...

From the moment we stepped in, we were warmly welcomed and guided to our table. The environment was cozy, with soft traditional Malay music playing in the background — not too loud, just enough to set the mood. The place was cool and comfortable.
The service was tip-top!!!! 👏🏼 One staff member, in particular, was incredibly attentive — he followed up on every order, explained the menu clearly, and informed us of item availability before we ordered. It really helped us plan our meal without unnecessary waiting. His name is Andy!! He consistently checked our table and made sure nothing was lacking. Truly excellent service!🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
As for the food — everything was superb!! 😍😋 Well worth the money and surprisingly affordable. Asam Pedas Ikan Pari: As described — not overly spicy, flavourful, and the fish was tender and easy to eat. Suits for kids too ! Ikan Masin: Perfectly salted, not overpowering. Udang Goreng Tepung: Crispy and delicious. ABC: Sweet, milky, and tailored exactly to our preference.
Overall, this café is highly recommended and definitely friendly on the wallet! Will return again...
Read moreLocated at Selera Putra in Precinct 1, the restaurant is a popular dining spot offering authentic Malaysian kampung-style cuisine. Signature dishes include grilled fish, asam pedas, masak lemak cili padi, and their crowd-favourite soft-shell crab — spicy, aromatic, and served fresh. Prices are reasonable, averaging between RM20 to RM40 per person, making it accessible for families
The menu is impressively diverse, featuring seafood, vegetable dishes, soups, and traditional desserts like cendol and bedak tepung. The portions is good, rich flavours, and fresh ingredients. The restaurant offers a relaxed, family-friendly setting with both indoor and outdoor seating, suitable for group gatherings.
However, the major downside was indeed the parking can be challenging, especially during peak hours, and service may slow down when the restaurant is full.
