OLDTOWN White Coffee @ Souq Putrajaya — Restaurant in Putrajaya

I decided to give Old Town White Coffee another chance after a disappointing experience last year. Unfortunately, it seems that food quality has not improved. I initially wanted to order Ipoh Hor Fun, but was told the kitchen had run out of prawns—this made me wonder, is this how they manage their business?

I ended up ordering fried wantan noodles, but it was another letdown. The chicken char siew was overly sweet, while the soup was too salty. It makes me question whether the management conducts proper food tastings before putting items on the menu. I remember when Old Town used to serve decent food about 10 years ago, but now, the quality does not justify the price.

This experience also got me thinking about other chain restaurants that maintain much better food quality and service. I wonder if Old Town's success as a public-listed company is mainly driven by packaged coffee sales rather than dine-in quality.

I truly hope they work on improving their food because there was a time when it was worth visiting. Sorry, but this is my second review expressing disappointment. Hopefully, things will change...

Definitely a unique place for a cafe to be. Went there during lunch, and since its my first time (ever) there..kinda got lost for a few minutes but when I found it...I was like..wow, thats an interesting place.

First off, too bad, since this is a tourist area, they dont offer any value sets, supreme sets even 18th anniversary offer. All they have is ala-carte. Service is sluggish but, understand cause its during lunch hour but the food is just great. I tried their kaya and butter toast, and white coffee (RM6+RM6.90). Thumbs up on that.

Also realised that this location is great to grab a picture or two...just advised not to go at 12pm..as the sun will be directly on everyones face..thats pretty much it.

Overall, its a special place for a meal, never seen a tourist spot somewhat underneath a mosque, but yea..thats...

The only good thing is the location itself, fronting the lake with such great view.

Other than that: the local staff seems to play a lot with their phones, dunno why they allow such behaviour during work. came at around 11am-ish, only to be told that half boiled eggs are not available, even chicken curry also not available. when my order arrived, one important part of the meals is not served, until I have to ask!

So not gonna repeat at this place anymore, though i'm a regular at old town...
