Simple café/warung next to the Putrajaya lake, suitable for getting your morning breakfast while enjoying the scenic view without breaking the bank.
I waited outside the café since 8.45am, and there was already a crowd waiting outside. The door opened at 9.15am and immediately it became very busy with people. In the morning they served Malaysian cuisines such as jemput-jemput, roti jala and nasi lemak. They also serve other menus starting at 11.45am.
My total bill of nasi lemak berempah and warm glass of water came out RM8.30.
đ NASI LEMAK AYAM BEREMPAH RM8 (8.5/10)
The chicken is juicy and tender, and the skin is very crispy. Doesn't really taste the spices on the chicken though. The sambal is sweet and not spicy.
đ ROTI JALA RENDANG AYAM (7/10)
Roti jala served with rendang ayam and chicken curry. The rendang ayam is a little sweet, but not spicy, and the chicken is juicy. Wish the chicken soaks up the rendang gravy more though.
All in all, nice trip 8/10 can come here for healing đ

Read moreI'm giving it 5 stars based on its tastefulness and the beautiful lake view that it offers. Parking is ample too. And just a walk away to the famous Masjid Besi.
Won't say that it's a fine dining place, but yah, you can get probably almost any local food there is, here. From the wok food (nasik or noodles goreng2) or the hot tomyam dishes (masakan panas ala tomyam), to even Western.
If you're a fan or the Northern food (makanan Utara i.e. bihun sup utara etc), this place is a must. They have quite a rance of traditional Malay sides like prawn fritters (cucur udang with kuah kacang), coconut pancake (peknga) etc etc.
Service is quite okay, but just to manage expectations, if the crowd is too big, expect some delay. And keep following up, cause you won't know.. I have experienced some major lateness in the service few times, throughout my years of coming here.
Yet still, it's a good place with good view, and most importantly good taste with variety of...
Read moreI used to go to Umai Cafeâs former location in Presint 2, and I would say I prefer the former location because the view of the lake is more serene and peaceful. But the current location is not too bad either. Being just beside the Putrajaya Presint 6 Swimming Complex, thus the cafe can be crowded at times, especially during breakfast. Ordering is fast cosâ it is done online via the scanned QR code at the table. However, the serving of food and drinks is rather slow, especially when the crowd is huge. Since we came for breakfast, thus it is the usual menu like nasi lemak, mee kari, laksa, mee sup utara, and of course the crispy cucur udang and the yummy cucur pisang. There is also pulut kuning with rendang ayam on the menu, which to me is quite rare. Generally, my family and I enjoyed our family time together at the cafe, and we wouldnât mind coming again for a repeat. Hopefully, serving of food and drinks would be...
