I have stayed at multiple DoubleTree by Hilton properties worldwide, but this was by far the most disappointing experience, and it fell well below the Hilton standard. 1) Parking The basement parking is charged per entry, not per stay. I clarified this several times with the staff because I could not believe such a policy existed. Even budget hotels either provide complimentary parking or charge per visit. This is unreasonable, unacceptable, and not what guests expect from a Hilton brand. 2) Misleading Room Advertisement I booked a King Guest Room in Wing 1 for two nights with my family, specifically for my children’s birthday celebration. According to your website photos, the room includes a sofa, but ours had none. When I asked, the receptionist confirmed that King Guest Rooms do not include sofas. This is false advertising and highly misleading to guests making booking decisions. 3) Poor Room Design The room was extremely small, to the point where I told my wife I would rather sleep at home. The so-called “balcony” was completely inaccessible, as the door was locked. Offering a locked balcony is pointless—this space would be better used to enlarge the room. Overall, the design is impractical and not guest-friendly, especially for families. 4) Swimming Pool Facilities This was the worst pool experience I’ve had at any DoubleTree. The toddler splash area was not functioning at all. Where are young children supposed to play safely? This completely ruined the family experience—especially disappointing as we were here to celebrate my children’s birthday. 5) The Only Positives The only saving grace was the service at Makan. The food was excellent and the staff attentive. The Kids’ Room attendant was also outstanding—professional, child-friendly, and kept the area very clean. Unfortunately, this does not make up for the many failings above. Conclusion This property does not reflect Hilton’s reputation or the DoubleTree standard. Between the misleading room advertisements, unreasonable parking charges, and poor facilities, this stay left us deeply disappointed—particularly since we chose this hotel for our children’s birthday celebration. I strongly urge Hilton management to review these issues immediately.

Checked in for 1 night here on 9/9/2024. Pros: 1) Big bed. Slept comfortably. 2) Got two big welcome cookies. 3) Location not far from airport 4) Breakfast had a wide variety of choices, but... Cons: 1) Long walk from parking to the entrance at level B1. The hotel should provide more signage for parking spots closer to the entrance to avoid the long walk. 2) Room was near the elevator BUT the elevator was out of service. We had to walk around the entire building to find a working elevator in the middle of the night, with insufficient signage. 3) Sent an email on 5th September and responded by Zetty HSaad. I mentioned that this stay for a birthday celebration, but when arrived, there was nothing prepared for the request. I stayed in Bandung for 2 nights, and 3 days before my birthday, I had already received a greeting card and a slice of cake. Why is it that in Malaysia, especially in well-known hotels, there’s no special treatment like this? I understand I’m not someone important to be celebrated, but if a request is made, even just a simple greeting card would have been enough. It seems like there's a lack of attention and effort, as if it doesn’t matter because I'm just an ordinary guest. 4) Room amenities should be complete and easily accessible. Why we have to call the front desk for basic items? Each room should come with a complete set of amenities. We only received a shower cap and a sanitary bag. In Japan, if the stay is for two people, they provide two sets of amenities in the room. 5) Breakfast at Makan Kitchen: Why were all the sambals (chili sauces) sweet? The sweet sambal for the squid, onion sambal, and sambal in the lontong really spoiled the experience. The vegetable curry (kuah lodeh) was bland, and the putu mayam was incomplete—there was only brown sugar, no coconut. 6) The worst part was when one of your staff pushing a teh tarik pandan ginger cinnamon trolley didn’t offer teh tarik to my table. They went to other tourists' tables and even put on a teh tarik show. They just passed by my table without the courtesy to ask or offer teh tarik. It doesn’t matter whether I’m Malaysian or not—why the double standard?

2025 stay: Still a nice staycation option and similar comments as last time. This time we got a different / smaller room (King Family suite) and it was advertised to have a sofa bed to sleep 4. However there was no actual sofa bed. Only a sofa (which upon checking was a bit filthy under the cushions). When we brought this up to careline they did come up to turn the sofa into a bed, and then brought up a single bed so that it wasn’t so cramped for our two boys. That was nice. The splash pool, kids club and game room were still a hit. Breakfast seems similar to last time, good variety but taste ranged from good to so-so. The omelet stall was most annoying, since I requested a cheese omelet and the guy passed me a ready made omelet insisting that it was a cheese omelet. When I ate it, there was no cheese, only peppers. Worse, there were some eggshells in it. Food at executive lounge still tasty, but some things are not replenished quickly. We got there around 6 and some of the items were already completely gone (despite open hrs advertised to be 5-7pm). However all the staff we met were pleasant and helpful. Except omelet guy. 2024 stay: We got a two bedroom suite with breakfast and high tea at the executive lounge. The room was great, very comfortable spacious and well done (also came with 3 TVs!). The splash pool and ps5 at the kids club was a hit with my children. While the high tea was tasty, breakfast was a letdown on taste even if impressive in selection. The staff were friendly and exceptional. We will likely return based on demand from the kids!

The positives|Smooth check in, friendly receptionist lady, nice touch on the warn cookies as welcome gift, lovely children splash pool, very comfortable bed, good blackout curtains||The negatives|Location was too far out from everything else, need a car to travel around, only one restaurant Makan which is where they serve breakfast at. We stayed in Double Tree around the world unfortunately this one is by far the most unpleasant. I’m referring to mostly due to cleanliness, functionality of the room and breakfast. I’ve booked two rooms, a twin for my parents and a large family room for husband I and two young children. The room carpets had stains and was filthy. The toilet in the twin room was badly blocked, my parents had trouble flushing the toilet and it would blocked so badly. They got someone in to fix the issue the next day. The cover of our room lock keeps falling off. |Bathrooms floors have stains and to be honest quite disgusting. Please see photos probably build up over the years or limescale stains. For a 5 star, it’s not very nice to look at. The bathroom is always wet and slippery after a shower as the shower door unable to block water from coming out of the shower. The toilet seat is not aligned uncomfortable to seat on. The carpet floors outside the rooms are dirty and the management need to look into cleaning them. The air conditioner wasn’t working properly on both rooms. Phone wasn’t working so had to run downstairs the night after, the tall guy at the reception didn’t seem too keen on helping, literally had to spelled it out to him about how cold the rooms are despite trying to adjust and increase the temperature. Someone came to try to help and we explained we have done the same and increased the temperature however it just keeps defaulting back to 20/21 degrees. Problem didn’t resolve and so we just put up with it for the entire stay. |Also received a welcome WhatsApp message from the hotel staff which I thought was nice however addressing me with the wrong name! I clarified that the number they messaged me belongs to me, their response was can I have your correct contact number? I was puzzled I’m not sure if they understood my message, is there a language barrier?||Breakfast although had a nice variety and spread, the service however is awful. We usually turn up an an hour before they close the buffet at 10.30am and already then food is left empty and not filled up, during my stay I had to ask on 3 occasions to have food filled up at the buffet so we can have our breakfast. Nice touch on the Indian corner, the first day we there, there was lots of pieces of lamb in the lamb curry bowl however by day 3 asked them to fill up the almost empty bowl, when they did but no lamb just the curry which makes me think they don’t cook it fresh and just reheat the batch that was cooked previously and when it runs out it runs out. I don’t know if this is a Malaysian thing but used plates and cutleries are just left on the tables and not being cleared until 10.30am when they shut the buffet. We were in Phuket the same week, just comparing it to back at home in the UK and our stay in Phuket, when you have empty used plates on the table, it just gets cleared away making room for customer to help themself with more dishes, we sat there and there was just empty used plates and bowls and cutleries in almost all tables not nice to look at. Also staff don’t have sense of urgency, when ask for help they rather just take their time the responses is quite awful and probably too laid back for me. I’m not sure if I will be back as I want a 5 star to feel like a 5 star. There is just too much faults to give...

Just came back from a terrible experience at this hotel. Our company had an event at the hotel, with around 300 staffs staying here. First of all, waited 2 whole hours for the room key, with no further explanation. Feeling tired, my roommate and I couldn't bother to complain at that time.

What I saw during the 2 hours time was that there was only 1 hotel staff setting up the key card, which were given 1 by 1 to our company's representative.

I couldn't inquire further on the issue during our stay there until the day we checked out. I inquired to the staff there on the situation happened during our arrival, and the hotel staff who processed the key card one by one was there. I expressed my grievance there and she could only said that due to our big group coming in and that she is the only person who could process the key card to our rooms. She only apologised. That was a shocking answer... As a big renowned hotel, this case shouldn't happen....not only to me, but also to everyone else.

My question was, why couldn't it be done earlier.....before our group came to the hotel. It's not that our company didn't inform of our arrival with the rooms required beforehand. If they knew one or two big groups are coming, they should be prepared. We came from JB, with a hell of a bus trip and expected to get a room the soonest possible so we could relax.

The second thing was, the room was cleaned up quite late. On the second day stay here, we went back to our room for a while, during lunchbreak, to perform our prayer, and our room wasn't made. If it is linked to the above situation, no wonder this hotel had issues with untimely issuance of the key card to the guests.

The third thing was, the steam iron in our room was functioning fine, until when we poured in the water and it dripped...to the last drop. Don't they check their own assets.

The fourth thing was, when we called up the concierge to our room, expected to be arrived at a certain time, it was a no-show and we ended up carrying our own luggages and bags to the main lobby.

The fifth thing was, they didn't have a bus bay for guests that arrive by buses. Upon arrival, we had to stop on the road side and walk up a flight of stairs to go to the main lobby. And during our departure, the gate linked to the stairs were locked and we couldn't contact the person in charge of the gate to open the lock. We had to walk up a bit further just to go tou our bus, and to walk at an uneven road side, with our luggages and bags in tow.

I didn't really enjoy my stay here. And won't be coming back. Sorry but the staff here is just too unprofessional for a big...

I checked in to this Doubletree by Hilton Resort with full excitement knowing that China President Xi had just stayed in this resort a day before me...not until I discovered an "uninvited guest". I booked 2 rooms for 3D2N family vacation, I was greeted by friendly front desk staffs who valued my gold Hilton Honors status during check-in. I was given an upgrade to Deluxe King room for one of my rooms during check-in. Both my rooms were located in Wing 5 of the resort while my Deluxe King room was a spacious corner room located in the same wing. ||Unfortunately, the negative impression slowly filled in when my children informed me the used dirty towels from the last guest was left in the room. They called housekeeping to cleared them immediately. Next, in the evening, while watching TV in the room, we discovered an "uninvited guest" - a flying cockroach in my Deluxe King room! It crawled from a corner in the room to the wall and to the air conditioner air vent. It re-appeared after a few minutes before it was killed using my slipper. A cockroach egg dropped out from its body after it was smacked to death, my goodness. This shows that there could be plenty still out there with its growing population. ||I lodged a complaint at the front desk and was given a replacement room at a quieter Wing 3. After checking into the room, I realized it was actually a King Executive room with lakeview and balcony. This calmed my nerves down with good night sleep over the next 2 nights. Wing 3 is best Wing of all (1, 2, 3 and 5) as it offers good ambience, tranquility, lakeview and away from the busy kids' pool and waterpark which is located at Wing 5. ||Breakfast at Makan Kitchen was good, the restaurant offers plenty of variety, from Chinese to Malay, India and Western corners. The resort offers 2 floor of car parking space, charges RM3.00 per entry. ||There is still plenty of room for improvement, especially housekeeping and pest control in the property. In view of the resort is frequented by mostly family with children, more stringent pest control must be in place to ensure good hygiene at all times around the premise. ||Lastly, I wanted to give more stars for this review given the replacement room was much better, but I could not help thinking about the "pest" issue in my room which is totally unacceptable, especially for a reputable brand like...
