Would like express my disappointment and dissatisfaction with the experience we had at your restaurant.
We visited around 8:00 PM, expecting to enjoy a meal, but were turned away with the explanation that there was "no food available for four people." This was shocking and incredibly disappointing. We were paying customers, not looking for free food, and it’s unacceptable for any restaurant—especially at that hour—to refuse service in such a manner.
In all our dining experiences, we have never encountered a situation where a restaurant denies entry or refuses service simply because of a small group size or supposed food shortage without any proper communication beforehand. If the kitchen was closing early or running low on food, it should have been made clear in advance or handled with more professionalism and courtesy.
We left not just hungry but also frustrated and disrespected. This is not the level of hospitality or service one expects, and it has unfortunately left a very negative impression. totally...
Read moreStumbled upon Cheng Kee Seafood while driving through Sg Pelek, and what a pleasant surprise! The restaurant has a simple, no-frills setup right along the main road—easy to spot and even easier to fall in love with.
The food? Absolutely delicious. The soy sauce prawns were incredibly fresh and packed with flavor. Kangkung came in a generous portion, perfect for sharing. But the real star of the night was the sotong drenched in ikan bakar sauce—smoky, spicy, and addictive. Every dish felt like a home-cooked masterpiece.
What I appreciated most was the relaxed vibe—no hard selling, no pressure to order extras. Service was fast, staff were friendly, and prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes.
If you're ever in the area, Cheng Kee is a must-try. Honest food, great value, and a taste that lingers long...

No regret to have my dinner here with good service, never being pushy to introduce expensive seafood. The price is reasonable.
The taste of the food I really like! Ordered soy sauce prawn and luckily I asked for a medium size or else I’ll crave for it for not ordering enough! Oh jian (pan fried oyster) although it’s a little bit oily but the freshness of the oyster and the fried egg just at the right texture. Lastly would be the kamheong lala, sooooo good! Wanted to ask whether they sell the paste but was stopped by my husband to ask…
I’d recommend to go and try. For myself definitely it’s a good choice.
Oh yea, the toilet is clean which I didn’t...
