Service is a bit slow maybe because some of the waiters are foreigners.I went there on a Saturday evening at about 7.30 pm.Took a cab from JB Sentral which cost RM100 return. It is airconditioned and there are some sittings outside.Maybe because it is a Saturday evening there are only a few empty tables.A few table joined together for about 20 diners had a reserved sign on it.Most of the tables were occupied by 3 generation families young and old and children. It could be different on other evenings. It was my first time.I am alone.I did not dine in even though there were empty tables.I did not book a room and the taxi driver told me hotels might be fully book that night. It was the eve of Malaysia National Day 31st August.I want to get back to JB Sentral to book a room. I didn't go for the lobster but for the sotong bakar instead. And teh tarik hot.The rice the sambal and the packaging is ok.They separate the rice and sambal and the sotong bakar. The sotong bakar was on banana leave with the sambal.I am not a cook but the sotong was tough to chew and my guess was not proper ly cook or poorly prepared. What I know is that dried sotong needs to be soaked in abu chang to soften it.My only complain. For the crowd I cant guess if they are regulars or not but I saw a few Singapore license plate and other state plates.Actually for me for nasi lemak the rice and the sambal decides for overall taste because originally it was eaten with a small fish like selar kuning or a slice of omelette and a slice of cucumber. It is a frequent breakfast for Malay families when I was young.Either self cooked or bought from stalls. They are many varieties for the side dishes. You can google it to check the menu price and location.Nas...
Read moreVisited with my family of five for the first time, and the experience was mixed. Upon being seated, we waited for about six minutes with no one attending to our table. It wasn’t clear that orders had to be placed and paid for at the counter, which could be better communicated to first-time customers.
We ordered Nasi Lemak Lobster, Nasi Lemak Sotong Crispy, Nasi Lemak Chicken Mexica, an additional Nasi Lemak, and drinks. The wait time for the food was a reasonable 10-15 minutes, although the Nasi Lemak Chicken Mexica arrived later than the rest of the order.
In terms of taste, the Nasi Lemak and Sambal Mak-Mak were slightly above average, but I’ve had better versions at roadside stalls. The lobster, priced at RM88, was small for a “medium” size, and while the garlic butter sauce was tasty, it leaned a bit too sweet for my liking. The Sotong Crispy was just okay—slightly chewy (“kenyal”), while the Chicken Mexica we ordered with a “spicy” option fell short of our spice expectations.
Overall, I found the prices steep considering the portion sizes and the viral reputation as the “cheapest” option for such dishes. While the concept is interesting, there’s room for improvement in service clarity, food quality, and pricing. A decent experience but not one I’d...
Read moreI went to this outlet with my son n we ordered our dinner of nasi lemak lobster n nasi lemak siakap.d wait wasnt tat long probably its slightly past d peak dinner time. My son couldn't get d medium size lobster as it was out of stock according to d waiter n he told us d size is abt d same n d diff is on d weight so d price is rm32 n rm45 respectively. D lobster set came without d claw as with d order of other customers n i dunno y as we were told it doesn't come with it but it's obvious tat is broken off. Its still a mystery y. As we were only given a small amount of sambal n only 1 or 2 slices of cucumber i requested for more fr d waiter but he told me 'timun semua x elok, layu. Later i requested fr a pacik he brought us our request n d timun was alright. Hmm.🤔 D nasi lemak comes with somewhat waterish sambal n d fish is farmed as expected but d meat is somewhat fluffy as in its not fresh kinda fluffiness n d fish comes with a kicap pekat manis n pounded garlic. I would say d food is nothing to shout abt, totally but bcos of d difference i wanted to try it out.i hv to say tat basmati rice was use but there wasn't a tinge of pandan n hardly any taste of santan. Try it out for its uniqueness but agn, its nothing to shout abt. No big deal,...
