I am extremely disappointed with service and voucher handling of the staff working there. On 28/06/25 at around 9:30 AM, I visited the OldTown branch at Setia Tropika to redeem a RM50 OldTown voucher that I had purchased from Lazada. I swiped the voucher in front of the counter and a code appeared. The cashier, Sumon, took my phone to key in the code but clearly didnāt know how to apply it. When he returned my phone, the voucher had already been marked as "utilized", despite no proper transaction being completed.
As a result, I couldnāt use the voucher anymore, and I ended up paying the full amount, effectively wasting the RM50 voucher.
When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told the manager was on leave. Even more frustrating, Sumon told me to call the manager myself. This is unacceptable and unprofessional customer service.
Iāve used the same voucher at other OldTown branches with no issues, so this incident is clearly due to lack of training and knowledge on Sumonās part. It was a very...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe food is average and nothing to shout about but the restaurant owner should take pride in the restaurant condition. The booth seat cushion must be replaced as I feel uncomfortable seating on it. It is no longer cushy and the peeling PVC cover with dirt stain within the cracks and cavities is a BIG turned off. I am sure they could afford to fixed it looking at the price tag on their menu as well as their "Old Town" brand. Their staff are not well verse with their management promotion for their Deal of the Day and needed to go to and fro to answer our queries. Afterall we cannot get the selected dish and choose for an alternative as they do not have the stock : ( I am surprise as I was dining on a weekday. I choose to dine in for their brand credibility but my experience is otherwise. Hoping that the management read this review and improve their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI visited this place yesterday with my husband after queuing for 3 hours in Malaysian Immigration dept. Usually after feeling exhausted everything you eat will taste good but this is not the case for us. We ordered kaya butter toast, curry mee and nasi lemak. Toast was too soft and cold. Curry mee was really bad and noodle like overcooked or soaked for too long. Nasi lemak was okay but not as good as other branch and not sure why is it this way.
I really hope they can improve on their food because Old Town Melaka doesn't taste like this. It was tasty the last time I had it in Melaka and I guess different branch had different standard.
The service there was...
