First issue, Booked early but there's no use they doesnt reserve for you pun! Second issue. Heavy rain, they ask us to sit in table of 4 (we came 5 ppl) so table were so small for 5 ppl. Our table is outside betul betul hujung sekali. Can you imagine sit there with heavy rain. Third issue, Soaking wet! Ask for table change pun cang do anything. We were okay since a lot of customers started to queue up to dine in. We're being considerate even if we have to sit in that condition. 4th issue, the later you come the price becomes higher. We have to pay 35.80 per person on saturday night. BUT, they did not topup the mutton?? We have to ask and ask. Food choices pun tak banyak! (Only 2 flavour ice scream scoop chocolate and mint others are ice cream malaysia. Nasi goreng, mee goreng, wedges, sausage, nugget, others are normal steamboat seafoods) do you think it is reasonable price? Ice cream pun takda toppings apa benda. Dessert cuma itu je. Taknak topup foods, I duno if it late? I came 7.30 ish ppl still queuing? 5th issue, bumbung bocor menitik nitik air hujan dalam kuah tomyam kitorang, air hujan dekat tempat orang lalu, kat atas meja. Mcm mana kedai ni boleh ramai pun taktahu! Disappointed !!! While got 1 family comes from damansara (reserved before come) they have to sit separately and the person who made the reservation complaint to the staffs and the staff said 'supervisor saya yang suruh customer lain duduk meja booking akak saya taktahu' thats your management problem, why you need to tell us customers? We pay you serve. You dont have to come here not worth the hype you watched on tiktok.š especially when it js heavy rain. My first and last. RM180 langsung...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery month, I will pamper my best friend and myself at a buffet restaurant. We usually go to high-end hotel buffet for obvious reason - Royal Chulan, Le MĆ©ridien, Shangrila.. you name it, Iāve been to all. Among all these buffet restaurants, I always feel like lacking something. Regardless of how good the food was, I still feel being robbed. RM200/person is quite expensive despite I puasa-ed the whole day to ensure every cent is worth spending. Yet, coming back home with an empty wallet still makes the experience less happy. Then we tried various steamboat places until we found Hot Pot King. Before I write this review, I went through the bad reviews first. Based on my experience dining at premium buffet, all I can say is these people are ungrateful. Iāve been to some steamboat places that charge way higher and served me expired frozen food. Other place had stack of dirty plates and utensils. One place had staff members who looked like they wouldnāt care if you choke and die. Some cheap steamboat offer little food as if it was ala carte.
RM30 is a great price for good steamboat, variety of choice, friendly staff (and boss), frequent topup, clean place, and most importantly- bmf. I went to both Jalan Kucing and Shah Alam branch, and I will keep continue coming back to dine here.
You never been here? You should try or at least consider it.
You had a bad experience here? Iām sure it was a one-time slip.
You prefer somewhere cheap? Cheap ā good.
Why should I trust this review? Iāve been to most (halal) buffet restaurant in Klang Valley.
End not: Dear owner, I would appreciate...

My friend and I were fortunate to have one outdoor table; came walk-in at 7:30PM, not many customers around. So we had a good time picking up the best seafood and marinated meats to cram down our gullet. Other customers start swarming the restaurant around 8:30PM and above, and you know well you should have come earlier.
At seafood area, they have plenty of shellfishes; cockles, clams, mussels, razor clams, and nondescript clams, medium size crabs, prawns, mantis shrimps. You may notice a hint of unfreshness with the crab meat and some of the shellfishes but I don't mind with that (some diva cannot tolerate this). Do not expect to see oysters here. They also have plenty of marinated meats; mutton, beef, chicken, and fish -- in different marinades and I love them all. Fishballs, chicken balls, crab sticks, crab balls, fish cakes can be found here too. Ready cooked meals are served too; fried noodles, sausages, chicken nuggets, fried rice; and I did not come here to eat this. Veggies are ok; greens and cheap mushrooms (enoki, buttons, and the like). Beverages are alright although a little bit too sweet to my liking. Desserts are quite disappointing because they only serve two flavours of ice cream and no toppings.
Services are ok, not great. I am not an Arab prince demanding royal treatment here.
A cheap steamboat and grill restaurant by Shah Alam standard.
RM28.90 per pax by the time I write...
