The food is decent, but my general experience with the staff is often terrible. I often politely request for specific chicken parts, and I am always given the textbook "if we have it, we'll give you" response. And look, I appreciate it if they tried to get me the part, but gave me something else because it is unavailable, but that is never always the case. Imagine asking for chicken breast/wing but the staff handling the counter keys in chicken thigh into the order, as if it was done on purpose. What I am upset about is that most of the time when I request the specific chicken parts, there is a large pile of fried chicken available. Is it so hard to find two parts of chicken for my order? The last time I ordered an Awesome Monday combo with 3 pieces of chicken, I asked for either wing or breast only. There is a reasonable pile of fried chicken behind the counter and of course, I do see a number of chicken parts that I want available. But other than 1 wing, I got drumstick and thigh which greatly upsets me. If you think I sound petty, this thing has happened to me not once but many times to the point of frustration that I'm writing this review. I am not blind, I can clearly see the pile of chickens behind the counter so I just don't understand why is the staff being stingy with the chicken parts. Part requests are hardly a problem when I eat at KFC. What's this Texas branch's sorry excuse for this then? Despite the "kalau ada saya bagi/saya cuba dapatkan" reply I get, I feel like theres ZERO EFFORT in catering to my request as a paying customer. So yeah, if you ever go here and see a bald guy with glasses in a manager outfit manning the counter named Ashraf or whatever you might as well walk out. There are others too but the gist of it is they don't look like they even want to work there with their unfriendly sour looking faces and lackadaisical attitude. I'm no idiot, I can tell when theres no chicken part available or if the person is intentionally getting me the wrong chicken parts I requested because they...
Read moreI frequent this Church's Chicken quite often, as this is the most convenient joint for me. On most days the quality of the food is good, the staff quite decent as well. Everything is usually normal. There is nothing to be concerned about...is what I'll like to say, if it weren't for one thing. They always seem to forget to include the honey biscuit into my orders, honey biscuits which I had paid for. Numerous occasions have I return home to enjoy my lovely Church's Chicken takeaway, only to find my order lacking that sweet, savory honey biscuit. Oh, how my smile drops upon seeing the vacant spot where the honey biscuit ought to be. A 1.60 ringgit gone anywhere but my stomach. Because of these frequent anomalies at the Utropolis Church's Chicken I now have trust issues with every fast food joint I patron at, always checking my order nervously before leaving the premises. I would say that my quality of life has certainly dropped ever since I lost confident in the Utropolis' Church's Chicken. How else am I going to conveniently get fried chicken?
But you know what's a Church's Chicken I haven't lost faith in? The joint in Sunway Pyramid. Trust me, this has nothing to do with the fact that I am a Sunway student and am at odds with KDU. Honest abe. The joint in Sunway is definitely more consistent with their quality, although I'll admit it isn't as spacious at Utropolis. You should definitely patron at Sunway Pyramid's Church's Chicken over Utropolis'. At Sunway there's even a view of the outdoor theme...
Read moreThe cashier did not even greet customers with a smile (which I understand if they are tired), but this one woman cashier in particular was very very veryyy rude and unfriendly right from the start with her tone of voice being as if she doesn't want to be there (it is your job, at least treat the customers politely). Next, I asked for 2 chicken breasts if possible as I looked at the shelf full of fresh fried chicken but she told me that if she gave me all the "big chicken" then the customer behind me would have to get small chickens. But be it as it may, they should NOT deny the customers rights to choose because it is on a first come, first serve basis. On top of that, she told me if i wanted "big chickens" then I have to wait 30mins which was outrageous because it was clear on the shelf there were new batches. Eventually she gave me what I wanted and a free mineral water as amends after 5 mins of me standing up to her that I was paying for the meal so I should get what I paid for. After all, we are paying for the food not asking it for free. I hope people who see this review, stand up for yourselves when you buy something, because it is YOUR money, not the restaurants giving for free. For employer at this Texas Chicken, please look at how your employees are. They might just not be suited for such job. If I could give 0 stars then I would. Regardless, the food is still delicious so I generously give 2 stars, even though my mood was ruined for the entire...
