Decent coffee shop, brightly lit and clean. Wanton/wonton mee is my personal fav to get here but they tend to sell out fast so try to go earlier in the day and probably no later than noon on weekdays. Had the kaya+butter croissant and nice and fragrant, best eaten when its fresh and hot. I had the vegetarian stall's white curry noodles another day and oh my goodness, it is severely underrated and I highly HIGHLY recommend trying it. Extremely fragrant and I was truly surprised by it.
Good selection of your standard kopitiam items (kopi, drinks, toast breads/buns etc.) from their drinks stall/seller, that also has menu items like nasi lemak and chee cheong fun. Apart from the wonton mee stall, they've got another noodle stall (mostly curry mee & gon lou/dry type noodles), a vegetarian stall, beef noodle stall, chicken rice stall and a char kuey teow stall.
The kopitiam/shop environment is not loud or noisy, seems to be very clean, brightly lit, and airy which I think makes it a nice place to dine comfortably. Nothing crazy outstanding nor bad here and is a decent place for a quick meal in this mostly industrial neighborhood area. The fact that they have a vegetarian stall provides a nice option for those on a plant-based diet. Shop closes on Thursdays, and most vendors accept Touch n' Go eWallet for...
Read moreWe used to come here for breakfast weekly. Unfortunately, an unpleasant event occured today. The restaurant was crowded, and there was a middled-age lady with spec and green shirt who told us to wait to be seated. Of course, we complied with the rule as we are civilized.
We waited for 5 to 10 mins, and finally, a table became available. The waitress waved at us and told us to sit there, but the middle-age lady with spec insisted that the table was for another customer who arrived after us. This really infuriated us, and we left immediately. I believed that the middled-age lady with spec could be the manager or the person in charge, I would suggest that instead of just yelling here and there, you could think of something to cope with the overwhelming crowd.
For instance, implement a queue number system, this would prevent such unpleasant events from happening again. I believed we would not visit this restaurant again in the near future or ever again due to the mismanagement, bad service and the way we...
Read moreVisited this kopitiam with my parents for brunch at 11am. No crowd, shaded by trees and absolutely winding. Going into the kopitiam already made me very comfortable and happy (I was very worried that I'll come out after a meal with the whole head of sweat and a sticky body).
All 3 of us ordered only this wantan mee and the dumpling. The stall owner is from Ipoh, the same village as my mom even! The wantan mee definitely smells like childhood to me (I might be a lil bias here already) and I always prefer the black wantan mee over the white. Their dumplings are huge and the filling is full of meat, and vege. Tender, juicy and bouncy even. Ordered the signature kopi bing for myself and Hainan tea for dad. Definitely the accurate taste of ipoh white coffee!
I must return with more friends and tell them this is the accurate taste and presentation...
