Came here for dinner at night and ordered the Dai Chow. We ordered two items (noodle and rice) and was told on the spot, not in the nicest possible manner that we had to wait 40 minutes when we were still looking at the printed menu by two foreign staff. So I thought ok maybe they have a lot of customers and can't keep up with the orders, or they had less staff working today maybe?
We were reminded (much more nicely this time) that the food will take long by the Chinese lady who was taking down the orders and we were ok with that. Looked around and sure enough, there were quite a number of tables waiting for their food.
15-20 minutes into waiting for our food, we noticed that "Hey, most of the tables have got their food but they're not having the Dai Chow, they ordered bak kut teh". So now we were getting quite puzzled but since we were halfway into our wait, decided to just persist and wait for our food anyway.
The rice dish came and it was supposed to be kam heong fish slice rice. Sauce was watery and did not have the texture of a sticky/thick kam heong sauce nor the fragrance that comes from it's name (literally translated) emiting from it.
Pictured is the Kung Po Yee Mee. They used less dry chillies which should be essential in this dish and as seen, they replaced it with fresh chillies?? Also the noodles tasted like tomato sauce mixed in. Tasted like tomato black sauce noodles with some chilli to make it spicy. Why.Would.You.Do.That????? Probably the worst Kam Heong Yee Mee I've tried to date, and I don't even know where are the good places to get them in and/or out of KL.
Am not sure if this is one off or they're just ripping off customers when they are low in manpower/cutting costs, but a friend has been here before and this was a total 180 degrees experience from the...
