Disappointing Dining Experience at Santha's Spice Kitchen
As a regular customer of Santha's Spice Kitchen, I've always enjoyed the flavors of their dishes like Nasi Lemak, Claypot Rice, Briyani, Paal Appam, and many more. It's an overpriced restaurant, but I still prefer it for the cleanliness and bright environment. However, my recent visit was a stark departure from my usual positive experiences, pushing my patience to its limits with the staff's attitude and operational mishaps.
From the outset, it was evident that something was amiss. The process of placing our order dragged on unnecessarily long, despite the presence of multiple waiters who seemed more engrossed in socializing than attending to customers. When they finally took our order, it was repeatedly incorrect, showcasing a concerning lack of attention and competence.
Adding insult to injury, the restaurant displayed shocking hygiene standards. Imagine my horror when I discovered a stray hair nestled in my meal. The sight of a filthy plate trolley being parked adjacent to our table, emanating a nauseating stench, only exacerbated our disgust. This lack of cleanliness is not only off-putting but completely unacceptable in any dining establishment.
Furthermore, the service was blatantly biased. It was painfully evident that certain customers, particularly a young woman at a nearby table, received preferential treatment. Orders were promptly taken and served to her, while families like ours were left waiting indefinitely. This favoritism is unprofessional and disrespectful to all patrons.
When we dared to voice our concerns, the staff's response was apathetic and dismissive. They mumbled excuses and stared rudely, as if our dissatisfaction was of no consequence.
It was clear that there was no accountability or supervision from the owner, who appeared preoccupied with personal matters at a distant table near the payment counter. The owner should be more actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This includes monitoring service quality, interacting with customers, and addressing any issues that arise on the spot.
In conclusion, my experience at Santha's Spice Kitchen was deeply disappointing and has left me reluctant to return. Unless significant improvements are made, I cannot in good conscience recommend this establishment to anyone seeking a pleasant dining experience.
It is my sincere hope that these suggestions are taken seriously and acted upon promptly to prevent other customers from enduring similar frustrations in the future.
To new customers, I strongly suggest avoiding dine-in and take-away. You could die waiting. Instead, order food via Food Panda, Grab Food, or any other...

I m not there to argue with your staff. If ur staff is good chatting to us with the good manner everything will be fine.I m not the first day deliver the food. There is more busier Restaurant out there n pick up time sometime is more than ur Restaurant. But their staff is more polite n Will listen to us n answer the question we are asking. And not like ur staff just asking we go out n just waiting there n not try to give us a time frame or sound rude to me and ask me to cancel the order if i can't wait. If i able to choose which restaurant for delivery i definitelys won't select ur Restaurant. As a rider we are not earning a lot money for one delivery, so we hope we can get the job done in more efficient manner. But i can't see any efforts from ur Restaurant to work hand in hand with us to get the job done in more effective way. I m no here to ask u to change ur styles of management. As that's not my business, because i only a rider which earn little money from my delivery job. N i m 100% not...
Read moreVery expensive banana leaf set. What’s more frustrating is that they refused to give bigger portion of vege. Their so-called reasoning is that I have to finish my food before asking for additional portion. Do I not know how much of vege do I consume? Next when I asked for nasi pollungu (or Indian rice), they said they have it till I was served white rice on my leaf. When I questioned, they just ignored and even had the cheekiness to lie that it’s nasi pollungu. That is really bad service and unprofessional to just serve your customers in the manner, as though “this is what I have, you eat what I serve!”.
Next when asked for papadom refill, they inform that I would be charged additional on top of the standard banana leaf price. When I asked, where is it stated in the menu or anywhere, they just told me, “I’m telling you now, that there’ll be additional charge for papadom”. Again, I’m surprised by the level of service here.
Food quality is mediocre, nothing to be shout about. Even, one of the vege is like Chinese-style vege. On a banana leaf???!!! Does not justify the...
