Restoran Patin Place — Restaurant in Subang Jaya

My first time here. My wife and I were blown away.

The reviews weren't kidding when they said it's the best Ikan Patin Tempoyak in Klang Valley. Dare I say, it's one of the best I've ever eaten in my life. The tempoyak was thick, the fish was fresh and the whole package was a delight. I smiled with every single bite; my wife thought I was being a little creepy.

That was not the only thing that was delicious. The broccoli & prawn and the fish in chilli sauce were awesome. Do down it with some coconut drink, my wife enjoyed it tremendously.

Not only that, the service was top-notch. The staff (family business, I assume?) made my wife and me feel at home, like as if you visited their house in Temerloh, Pahang. They were nice to separate the same fish into two separate dishes as my wife can't stand the durian smell. (We'll be sleeping in different bedrooms tonight, I reckon)

They made you feel cozy, sometimes coming in to check on what you need without being too intrusive. They even offered an umbrella to get to the car as it was raining heavily.

Best tempoyak I ever had and not surprisingly it's owned by Chinese. The standard of food here is great n very authentic Malay style. Family run, Very friendly owner n staff.

We had tempoyak patin n deep fried lampam kerai n many more dishes. All r very good.

But Both the fish quality ie their texture n taste are way below fresh wild river caught fish. The fish doesn't taste like wild river caught fish but are likely pond or caged river or frozen/chilled.

Wild river fish has to be eaten freshly caught. Once frozen or chilled their texture n taste deteriorate n does not give the freshness anymore. Very different from seafish.

I'm giving 4 stars bcos the fish quality is not "live" wild caught river fish.

They don't allow customers to bring their own fish which is a shame as I have very good quality Patin Buah, Baung hitam, Mekong catfish, etc which will be exceptionally tasty with...

It was my first time bringing my whole family members, total of 11 persons including two of my friends, dining here and including two of my younger brothers celebrating their birthdays here too! Seriously, the staffs very friendly and helpful, the food? Marvelousssss!! We really LOVE LOVE the Patin Masak Tempoyak, the broths are crazy delicious, and the menu we chose all superb, sedap sangat lah senang cerita😆 Oh, since I bring my whole family, it was easier to reserve, booked your slot early one week and the staff will guide and suggest you menu according to your budget and number of people.
