Was at Geno Hotel for 3 days for a training and I really liked the breakfast and tea break menus but man, the lunch was definitely questionable. Breakfast and hi-tea spread like bihun goreng, chicken wings, sandwiches were all very good and flavourful. However, the lunch menu just did not find a way to satisfy me. The individual dish that they served is not in harmony with other dishes (about 5 dishes per day) so one plate of meal was a haywire business. For example: chicken curry + mayonnaise broccoli & cauliflower??? Black pepper chicken breast + fish & tomato??? I don't understand??? The chef really needs to put more thoughts on the coherency of each dish and how one menu could compliment the other. But the baked penne au gratin they served on one of the three days I was there was definitely superb (of course the menu did not make a repeat appearance after that). The funny thing is the frequent dessert which was the sponge cake will always (and I mean always) makes an apperance at every meal with different colour and flavour but the same exact shape, look and feel. So I saw the same cake in every colour a man could see in...
Read moreA cafe located in Geno Hotel. A good place to have your meals when staying in. Also a good choice to have your functions here especially if your have people from out station or out of state attending. Easy to locate and not far from main roads. Jalan Batu Tiga being the central point. Ambience is good. Design is almost 70 to 80ish although the hotel is still new but i guess it is coming back to fashion with those tables and chairs. The hanging bulb lights surely a design of those days. I did not have the opportunity to try all the food on the menu but the food was satisfactory. The staff were polite and helped me make a quick and simple meal choice considering it was a busy day and the...
Read moreWaited 1 hour for our food and no-show. Order was taken with repeated returns from different waiters. Staff just say they are busy in a cafe that only with 5 tables being seated and NO food on everyone’s table. Everybody’s face is so unhappy waiting for their food- from salad, spaghetti to burger to sandwich, NONE appeared. If can, don’t ever meet anyone there for a meal. The waiters don’t even know they run out of which type of teabag. Good 15 mins after taken order, return with teabags for us to choose & in the end, the cup or pot of tea never...
