Maghrib grill — Restaurant in Malé Atoll

The welcome: unfortunately like all other à la carte restaurants of this three island resort doesn’t have a hostess or at least someone to welcome who ever reserved a table. You just enter and take your chances..

The service: Jumaan was my waiter and honestly his efforts are applauded, friendly, welcoming and decisive. But a lack of ingredients knowledge for simple things is present. FOH trainings necessary and tasting for each dish is needed. A soup served without a cutlery setup with a spoon included shows frustration of service tactics. But the way, the alcoholic beverages gentle push to sell was nicely executed.

The food: Well cooked, well plated but some prep inconsistencies on the starters were noticed.

Desserts: extremely nice plating, distinguished flavors and nice texture differences within the dish.

Overall: a hard copy paper menu must be implemented to all à la carte restaurants, iPad looks cheap and un-tailored for the price tag.

There is room for improvement and I totally recommend to try the restaurant.

PS: the fish pond that guests can choose their own fish to eat, looks yellowish and filthy. Different tiles color probably is...

I loved it here, normally it is a bar slash buffet restaurant but every Tuesday night there is a Lobster Party. There is a pool right next to it so you can relax in the pool after a good meal. The food is great, there is plenty of choices and plenty of delicacies to enjoy here, the lobsters aren’t very very big but they are fresh and you are allowed unlimited, it is ~120$ American Dollars per adult and half price for kids. Now the reason I know it’s fresh is because there is a tiny bridge connecting different seating areas and the pond has lobsters and fish in it. Everyone here is very nice and you are welcome to chat and talk to the workers here. The atmosphere is great, normally the weather is not hot or cold and it is very fancy, there is fish ponds that are lit up and bridges everywhere. In conclusion it is very worth it to go to the Lobster Parties and come to Maldives because of the amazing views, service and many more! The mahgrib grill was amazing, went here only twice over my 2 week holiday but staff were lovely and accommodating, food was absolutely amazing and it was great fun watching people pick out and hold their own lobster. There was a range of seating. A fully lighted inside option with solid flooring or seats along the beachside which were an amazing atmosphere although dimly lit by lamps it made the scenery more calming. Overall...
