Even though I was staying on another island within the resort, I couldn’t resist the charm of Sunset Restaurant—the name, the location, and the idea of dining over the turquoise waters had me curious. So, like always, I made a special request to have breakfast and dinner here, and to my delight, they welcomed it happily with an advance booking. Truly grateful for their flexibility and hospitality.
Now, let me be clear—as always, I went for vegetarian food only (yes, team veg), and I was pleasantly surprised to find a dedicated vegan corner as well! It’s not just about a few token greens—there was genuine effort in curating flavourful, satisfying options. From grilled veggies and Indian dal to continental breads and fresh tropical fruits, it felt like a global veg buffet with a view.
The restaurant is located right near the arrival jetty, and it's one of the first things you spot when you arrive. But trust me, don’t overlook it. While the buffet menu is largely the same across all the main restaurants, it’s the ambience here that steals the show—you’re seated above the water, feeling the breeze, watching waves glisten under the open sky, and if you're lucky, even catching a glimpse of baby sharks or fish swimming below.
Evenings are a different kind of beautiful. The live cooking stations come alive with the sounds and smells of sizzling skillets, and it’s a joy to watch chefs in action, especially when you're customizing a vegetarian stir-fry or getting a hot naan fresh off the griddle.
A heartfelt thanks to the amazing team—Moosa, Gokul, Rajesh, and Faisal—who went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, always smiling, always attentive. It's people like them who make the experience as memorable as the setting.
If you're a vegetarian (or even vegan!) looking for good food with soulful vibes and ocean views, Sunset Restaurant is a must. Just don’t forget to pre-book if you’re not staying on the main island—it’s...
Read moreHello there I was yesterday on a pass day tour in your hotel resort, I had really fun with all the resort entertainment except during lunch time at the sunset restaurant the staff had a bad attitude for the customer who got a pass day tour and I experienced some kinda sarcasm from one of the waiters in there as I asked for water he told me that just sitdown and I will serve you free drinks with an attitude that I did not feel welcomed maybe because They know I got only a pass day tour not only bad attitude to me I’ve been watching them during all the service which I am a duty manager in a big hotel chain if I would to stay in there I would have but as there are many islands in maldives and a short holiday I would love to discover around, However your staff got my attention and they were provocative thats why I am writing for you this review and they have to be more careful as there’s always mystery guests that are watching everything...
Read moreHas a wide array of food available but the restaurants are too crowded with people to the point it takes very long time to wait in line to try to get one plate of the live kitchen food. And lots of line skippers which makes you lose the wish to try the food. Overall, not worth it because due to having to wait for so long in line, and so little buffet time available, did not get to even try 1/4th of the items offered. The ones that were available though were mediocre taste wise. Was wanting to try the pasta station but didnt manage to with the huge crowd. The meat items were either overcooked or bland. The drink refills were the only good part about this restaurant and the occasional sighting of a heron if you're lucky. The views are superb but the crowd makes the atmosphere irritating rather...
