Went for the first time Sunday morning. It will also be the last time.
We called in advance to book for 11 and specifically requested the courtyard as we did not want to sit on the main road. The day before, one of the families called to say they could not make it so we called again to change the booking to 7 people and confirmed again that it will be in the courtyard. When we got there they claimed to not have our booking and said the courtyard does not open for breakfast so they do not know why they told us it would be ok. We acquiesced and sat outside with the noise of the traffic from the main road.
We then placed our breakfast order which, apart from the usual egg dishes, included a cold glass of milk for a child and 2 tropical smoothies which according to the menu were made from Banana, Mango, Pineapple and Milk. When the smoothies came they were pink and we could taste strawberry in them and feel the little seeds of the strawberries. When we told the waiter it is not what we ordered he claimed that the tropical smoothie is pink. Even after I showed him the menu he insisted it is correct. Instead of admitting the mistake and just correcting it like a normal person would he just kept lying about it. When my wife insisted he told her "Do not argue with me". Apart from this after 2 reminders the glass of milk never arrived either.
Now I have worked in this industry and I understand what a hard job it is so I understand that anyone can have an off day and mistakes happen. Usually even after a bad experience I will give the establishment another chance. Any place can have a bad day and may be better next time. But when you make a mistake you need to apologise to the customer and rectify it, not claim it is what they ordered and tell them not to argue with you. Read moreThe restaurant itself is excellent it has a fantastic menu and, in my opinion, some of the best interior and exterior design on the island. However, I believe more attention should be given to the behavior and attitude of the staff. During my visit, I had an unpleasant experience that left a very negative impression. While I was using the restroom (for about six minutes), I overheard a staff member a blonde waitress loudly saying, “Ugh, is it possible that she’s been in there this long?” Not realizing that we spoke the same language, she was quite vocal and disrespectful. I responded from inside that the restroom was occupied. When I exited, I smiled and said, “Patience, guys,” to keep things light, but she responded by entering the restroom and mocking my smile in a sarcastic manner.
This kind of behavior is extremely unprofessional and rude, especially in such a beautiful and otherwise well-run establishment. It gave me the impression that some staff members feel they “own the place” and have no issue expressing their dissatisfaction inappropriately.
