A simple resturaunt with amazing views of the stars and sunset. With food that celebrates local farmers and traditional cooking techniques.
Service: Knowledgeable staff and interaction with the owner Godwin made this dining experience. He shared his story which added personal touch to the experience and made us realise how special the food truly was.
Food and Drinks: Good selection of Maltesian wines and international wines at a good price. We were even given an apperol spritz to enjoy at the rock pools below the resturaunt while we had a night time swim.
Atmosphere and Ambiance: Intimate. Ambient. Beautiful lighting and view. Tables simple but had everything we needed.
Price and Value: Brilliant prices for such an exquisite local spot.
Cleanliness and Hygiene: The restaurant's impeccable cleanliness extended to the tidy and well-maintained restroom.
Reservations: The owner of our bed and breakfast at The Stonehouse in St Julian's kindly contacted the host who made a booking and even prepared a specially requested meal - the rabbit.
Crowd and Noise Level: Big tables and small tables. Very family orientated but also great for a couple wanting a romantic dinner.
Location and Neighborhood: On the cliffs overlooking a small fisherman's village with colourful boats. On the opposite side is the exceptional sunset. It was so awesome going to watch the sunset, having a swim and then going to this spot to eat.
Recommendations: For fellow diners, we strongly recommend indulging in the seafood spaghetti. My husband had the rabbit which he enjoyed. The antipastas were delicious and the Maltese wine was great! We wanted the tirimisu but they didn't have that so we had a chocolate lava cake instead. We ordered a second one because it was so good.
Areas for Improvement: There is only one toilet that we were aware of. It was not an issue but if the resturaunt gets busy this might become a...
Read moreI rarely write on this page but today I feel I must as I was so outraged by what happened that I actually took some time before writing in order to calm down... for the past few years no visit Gozo was complete without a visit to Azure Window restaurant in Dwejra. After today, however, I will never set foot in the place again. We visited with a couple of friends and our children. Booking was at 13.00 and we were on time. We ordered drinks, starter to share and main courses which consisted of fillet steaks for myself and my husband. The starters arrived shortly afterwards but we were not served our main courses before 14.30 and our fillets were overcooked. Hence, we asked that they be replaced. At 15.00 we were still without our main courses, at which point we were famished and the little ones were restless. Hence enraged as we were we told them to just cancel the order as at that point it was unacceptable. The owner came over and started quarrelling with me, stating that it was our fault as we had sent the food back and that they had started the new order immediately. With all due respect, it's an insult to my intelligence to tell me that a medium rare steak takes half an hour to cook. We paid for what we had taken as honestly we pitied the poor exploited staff who has to put up with this man! I hope he enjoys the patrons who stop to share 1 main course between 3 and a bottle of still water as he certainly won't be getting any business from me in the future. By the way, while we waited we had already consumed wine and had the intention of getting dessert and coffees later, instead we ended up having to eat elsewhere! From one of our favourites to definitely never again! I understand having a bad day but that comes with apologies and not with arrogance and insulting our...
Read moreChef and waitress needs a school. 🤦♂️ Since when near the shore, When you have access to sea,and fresh fish dare to sell something so bad. After pasta with shrimps and salmon steak returned to kitchen becouse it was dry and burned.waitres said you have to inform what kind of steak you want to. I think it's your job to figure out what client wants to. I don't think that anyone wants a burned steak 🤔Served another salmon steak medium but still burned on bottom. Lower down your temperature or just learn to cook. It was I think third time in my life I returned my food. Bad. Sorry but I don't hink tat balsamic reduction is still popular. It was popular in 90th's 😕 I can accept all of nonsense. But not a sea food near the sea so bad. If I am wrong please correct me. Maybe my school was wrong. Salmon steak is usually served with crispy skin, which preserves a salmon taste and juices, saving it from burning. Not without it 🙄 second wife's pasta was blend. Try to infuse taste to food, not just put spices on top 🍲 Gozo island is famous of vegetables like tomatoes. Non of salmon or pasta had nothing to do with them. Maybe try seasonal vegetables. Or something differently. Maybe I am wrong. But for me never again and I feel deeply disappointed. In mellieha any other bar makes better salmon steak with chips for better price. Something to think about 🍟🤔 cheers 🍻 p.s. The best was the view thru windows and bread with some garlic souce. I better pay 20eu for that but not for salmon or pasta. By the way bread was for free. It is for...
