Booked a table for eight of us during a midweek evening. It’s a big group and getting there we saw that seating all of us was gonna’ be a challenge. The restaurant did say, however, that we will be seated.
Getting there, it didn’t really seem that way. Arriving slightly earlier than the booking time, we were there for a long while. The actual booking time came and passed and we were not seated.
So what eventually did happen was half of the party ate then the next half of the party were seated. Not great for a restaurant experience. It was probably around 1.5 hours that we were sitting down eating after the booking time.
Equally, however, we could have just walked away and gone somewhere else. But hearing a good reputation of this place, we wanted to give it a chance. So, as guests we share some portion of the blame in terms of waiting for so long.
The staff members were very apologetic and were very attentive and friendly. it should be said. I cant help but feel that they should have been direct from the off and said they couldnt host a large group. Having said that, they did want to make it up to us and treated us to an appetiser; essentially a goats’ cheese tartlet. This did taste nice and had a good blend of flavours. I didn’t like the herb on top, however.
For mains, I ordered cote d’agneau and didn’t take too long to arrive after ordering. The medium rare agneau was cooked to how I like it. Was seared well and enjoyed the accompanying sauce. The salad on the side was fine and the chips too were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I did enjoy this meal, which was a hefty portion too.
At the end, again we the staff members treated us to some napolitans, cookies and banana-walnut cake. This was a nice touch and shows that they were going out of their way to make amends.
All things considered, I believe a 4/5 is fair and hope to return to try out other dishes as the food really was great. So, I hope to return with a better experience and updated more positive rating.
It is very busy so it’s great to see a local business do well serving...

I was completely thrown off by Kolipizo's unassuming appearance, but my friend insisted. Honestly, it looks like your average snack spot from the front, where they showcase their sweet treats. However, venturing to the back revealed a hidden gem.
The chef here is a true artist. He elevates simple ingredients to extraordinary heights. It is clear the staff are trained to provide a top-notch experience, despite the casual setting. I have now become a regular, trusting the chef to surprise me with his creations, and he has not disappointed once. The beef fillet is a revelation: incredibly tender and flavorful. Their seafood dishes are equally impressive, often paired with delicious homemade pasta. And don't even get me started on the savory crepes made fresh before your eyes! For those with a sweet tooth, the napolitaine is a must-try, though their tiramisu and carrot cake are also fantastic.
Kolipizo delivers exceptional food at a reasonable price. Do not let the exterior fool you; this place is a culinary treasure. Highly recommended!

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Kolopizo last night and it deserves every bit of a 5/5 rating. The lady who took our order was very helpful, warm and guided us through the menu with expertise. Her friendly & helpful suggestions made our dining experience truly enjoyable.
We were a group of 5 and ordered the: Fish filet Tandoori wrap Prawn garlic sauce Mine bouille with beef Chicken filet Crispy calamari
Each dish was a masterpiece, both in presentation and taste. The attention to detail was evident. In terms of details, the dishes with the creamy sauces, the chef adds a drizzle of a 'fresh herb oil' to balance it out & for brightness.
Overall, a beautiful experience of flavours, a visual delight, and an top-notch service.
Highly recommended & All the best to the...
