McDonald's — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

Today I had a very bad experience at McDonalds Trianon and for me this is the worst McDonalds i ever been to in Mauritius. These are the reasons why:

1. The self ordering kiosk was not properly programmed today. When clicking on spicy chicken mac meal it was the nuggets menu which was appearing. So settled for spicy grand chicken menu.
2. When the food arrived the coca cola cup had many traced of spilled cola on the exterior of the cup. When asked the employee about the reason for this, she replied Nothing! when the cup was clearly only 3/4 full (guess they spilled the drink in the kitchen). Had to argue for them to fill in the cup again.
3. We also ordered a happy meal and clicked on the option for a toy for boys. Ended up getting a girls toy. When asked about this the employees reply things like the toy is both for boys and girls or that its the only toy they have left. (Proper stock management? People are paid for this usually)
4. Also there was a notice about No cheese available. No cheese available on a public holiday. On election day where they should know that there would be plenty of clients. Again Stock management? A globally known company like McDonald cannot find competent people to manage the stock of cheese? Also usually when people add more cheese to their burgers they are charged for it. why is it that when there is no cheese the price is still the same and not lower?
5. The fries were under cooked. Ate at McDonald in various outlets in Mauritius and abroad and this is the first time that I ever complained about the quality of the fries there. I thought that McDonald had a quality assurance program where every employee had to follow strict quality standards. Obviously this is no longer true. At least for McDonald Trianon. The fries were the worst ever. Under cooked, soaked in oil, not crisp and cold.
6. We ordered 3 spicy grand chicken. Ended up with 1 spicy grand chicken and 2 grand chickens. At that moment we were too hungry and tired to complain again. So we just ate what was served and moved on. (O btw the bread was not toasted and felt kind of rancid)
7. A general comment about McDonald in Mauritius is that the standard is going down fast. In many outlets the employees keep arguing among themselves on who would be on cleaning duty of the tables. The ice cream size and quality going down. Now even the fries and menus getting bad. I do hope that McDonald will be more careful about the recruitment and training of the employees in the future.
8. About the employees, even saw one employee running after a couple of clients today to give them some McCrispy chicken that they supposedly forgot to take only to run after them again a few minutes later to get back the chicken as it was given to the wrong clients. this shows the level of incompetence of the employees. I do hope that this review will be taken seriously by the McDonald team and that you will not just send a generic reply with just some words of excuse or of denial. There is definitely a problem with the quality of the service and food offered now at McDonald Mauritius and this is largely due to the poor recruitment and training and attitude of...

I rarely give so less star but it was so disappointing and I can only be honest! It took me some days to decide if I should or not even write and show this but it is important. I hope the team sees this and take it in a constructive way to improve. It was last saturday around 18:00. The place was almost desert, no dine-in at all which was quite strange! Few people ordering could only stand as ALL the tables were so dirty. Food on the floor, on the table, stained, greasy tables! Very messy and so unhygienic! The kitchen was in a mess too with food, tissue paper, paer bags on the floor. No1 bothers to clean up on a Saturday night when we all know it gets crowded during weekend. Or maybe that's why it was so dull, people is avoiding the place for poor service and hygiene. Only few orders, still it took long to get the food. I did not get the guts to visit the toilets. Unfortenately, I noticed the mess after ordering 😬 Glad I did not drive through, no more ordering there.

When I went to order, two of the self-order screens were not working, so I queued at the counter for 10mins since only one counter was open. When I finally gor there, my card would not pass. I asked her to tru again and it still didnt work. I asked the woman if I could juice since I had no money on me but I knew there was definetely money on my card. She said no and looked at me like I was an inconveniance. she was not helpful. I had to go get money out from the bank. Came back and had to queue again for 15mins, until they finally opened a second counter. When I finally get to the counter again to order the woman said that that counter only took payment by cards. I refused to move and queue for a 3rd time. The woman from the first time was at the next counter and she told the other woman that it was "reception problems" which she had not told me earlier. So she took my order and I had to try and pass my card twice until it finally passed. Neither apologised for the 25mins I had to queue and the fact that I went to the bank for nothing.
