The atmosphere is good. The restaurant is clean, staff is very attentive and front of the house did an excellent job of listening to requests, addressing them and listening to feedback. For context I’ve grown up in cattle country in the Midwest, and have been privileged with always having access to great steaks and suppliers around the area and so maybe I could be a little biased when it comes to rating the quality of steaks. The meat was decent but trimming the piece could have been done better. I ordered the steak medium rare but it came out ice cold. The ribeye Mochomos was cold and the sauce might have been the only bright spot on the dish. The potatoes on the side were unseasoned and if you would have served me KFC potato wedges I would’ve been more content. The aguachile is nothing special, the octopus a little tougher than I would have liked but also flavorless. The tuna tostadas were ice cold as if the fish was frozen in the back and the flavor profile was so unpleasant it had to be sent back after just one bite. Virtually inedible. If I would compare this place it would be a few tiers below an Outback Steakhouse but even then that’s not being fair to Outback. If you are looking for a business dinner where you culinarily want to impress guests, I’d suggest try elsewhere. If you want a more upscale ambiance and don’t care about the taste of food then this is a viable spot. I really wanted to rate this place a 4 or 5 but the food is so lacking that it brings it...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at Mochomos. Throughout our visit it was not clear who our waiter was, as several people came to our table. One of the waiters forgot a drink order, resulting in our food arriving before our drinks. One of our two main dishes had to be sent back to the kitchen, twice, due to the steak being completely raw. The prawns on top of the steak were mushy and inedible. Another waiter came to our table and promised to remove the item from the bill. When we asked for the bill we did not receive it but were provided a dessert that was not wanted. Eventually the bill came with nothing removed. We asked about this, another server claimed it was a misunderstanding and insisted it remain on the bill and that their offer to make it right was the complementary dessert which we had not asked for and turned away before it was placed on our table. The rest of the food we ordered was average, I can only give this place 2 out of 5 stars due to the very frustrating experience. For more than $1000MXN per person, I would not...
