As I wrote before in my previous reviews, I’m not the type of person who shares every dining experience but yesterday’s experience in Sensissimo was simply sensational and deserving of a proper review. Of course, every dining experience is unique so I can’t guarantee that you’ll experience exact same as mine but anyone who appreciates a total dining experience should give this restaurant a try.
From the moment you enter, you’re greeted with a warm genuine smile and transported to Italian plaza surrounded by coffee shop, ice cream parlor and elegant restaurant. Since we were there for dinner we were guided into the “restaurant” section. As you can imagine, before you even open the menu you feel the attention to details.
As servers are part of the experience, they’re very well selected and trained. They’re very knowledgeable about dishes and can make proper recommendations based on your needs. But the most important thing I felt was the staff enjoyed working there. They knew that they played a vital role.
Hmmmmm the food, the most important part. It’s simply devine. If you appreciate the aroma and savoring the ingredients, you must try this place. Mushroom ravioli is in perfect balance of texture and aroma. Many other restaurants serve this dish with so much cream that it kills the scent and pasta so thick you don’t appreciate the texture. But this place is different. The chef highlights the natural flavors and finds harmony in texture and flavor. Nothing over powering each other. Oh man, hand made Pavarotti pasta, a very simple dish but amazing (double the enjoyment). You’ll get it when you try it. I’m not going into details because this review is getting too long already. Ok ok let me add one more thing, you MUST try, the hand made gelato. I’m not an ice cream sommelier or any thing but even a regular person like myself can appreciate rich flavors. I was blown away!! And I had gelato in Italy but i really think its better here!!
Not that the whole dinning experience wasn’t enough, just to top off the evening, we had the chance to meet the owners. Very lovely couple, they shared with us their concept and passion for this restaurant. This is when everything came together. They are artists. All their details are well executed with passion.
So at end, I’m not sure if you’re lucky enough to have the same experience as we did but I encourage you to visit this little Italian Treasure Box. I bet you can find yourself an unique magical dining memory. Good luck...
Read moreMy wife and I discovered a bit of Italian Heaven today, we are declaring among the best Italian restaurants in Aguascalientes. Our dishes were excellent (our Tortellinis, Raviolis, Zuppea, Gelato, and Panna Cotta), devine really. I think my Cuppachino Italiano is the best I've had at any place in my 17 years in Aguascalientes. I was compelled to have two. I doubt better gelato can be found anywhere in Aguascalientes or anywhere else for that matter. The owners and staff to a person were all gracious, attentative, accomadating, infomative... wonderful folks. The menu is varied with many dishes we intend to investigate with gusto on what we know will be many repeat visits. No doubt we will be regulars. I'll note the decor is inviting, thoroughly pleasant with many tables spaced apart providing a comfortable privacy amongst fellow diners. There is also a wonderful well-appointed private room that can be reserved for up to 10 people for special occasions. It's always great to find something new that turns out to be unusually exceptional. Today we had that great pleasure. We are much looking forward to our next visit. If you are reading this, my wife and I encourage you to make Sensissimo your next...
