I was looking for a place where I could have a healthy meal, as I was feeling a bit upset in my stomach. I wanted something light and comforting, so I searched for a caldo de pollo or caldo de res. I found this spot on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. I was seated quickly, and the staff took my order almost immediately, which was great since I was feeling a bit uneasy. At first, I was a little confused by the menu, since they offer both consomé de pollo and caldo de pollo, and I wasn’t sure what the difference was. The waitress kindly explained that the caldo de pollo includes more carbohydrates like potato and zucchini, whereas the consomé is lighter and comes with a bit of rice. I appreciated the explanation and decided to go with the caldo de pollo. The next question I was asked was about the size of the plate I wanted. I asked the waitress if she could show me both sizes, and she kindly did. I realized that the so-called “big” size was what I would normally consider a regular portion, while the small one looked more like a dessert-sized bowl. Naturally, I went with the larger portion. They offered three versions of the dish: one with no chicken, one with a chicken leg, and one with a chicken breast. I ordered the breast option, which came more like shredded chicken, but it was a generous portion and worked really well with the caldo. The caldo came with potato and zucchini, and on the side, they included lime, chopped onions, and fresh cilantro—perfect for customizing the flavor to my taste. On the downside, the zucchini and potato felt undercooked and didn’t quite blend well with the rest of the dish—almost as if they had been cooked separately and added in later. The chicken itself also felt a bit out of place, like it hadn’t fully absorbed the flavor of the broth. The soup overall was warm and comforting, but the elements didn’t come together as harmoniously as I expected. The tortillas that came with the caldo were okay—nothing special, but I usually don’t prefer tortillas anyway, so that might be just my personal taste. The main disappointment came when it was time to pay. This restaurant only accepts cash and does not take credit or debit cards, which can be inconvenient. I think this is more of a cultural or local business practice than a problem specific to this place. However, I would highly advise tourists to be prepared with cash before visiting, as it might catch you off guard. Places that only accept cash often exchange your dollars at a lower rate, which can end up costing you more. This restaurant did the same, even though there was a currency exchange right next door. In addition to the unfavorable exchange rate, they didn’t give me the full change back. On top of that, it was clear they were expecting a tip, which made the whole payment process even more frustrating. So, in general, be mindful when paying in cash and watch the exchange carefully. I recommend using a credit card whenever possible to avoid losing money on unfavorable rates or missing change.

Traditional Mexican food. My favorite is the grated enmoladas. They are delicious! I like that the give you a consome at the beginning with hand made tortillas and good salsa. If you are looking for an option that is not spicy try the cilantro cream enchiladas, really good. We also ordered the tampiqueña wich is a skirt steak served with enmoladas and guacamole on the side. It was really good. I absolutely recomend this place for good food. I really like the outdoor tables. As a bonus they give you a small pineapple tamal for dessert. Fantastic place

Ordered chilaquiles suisas, the food took almost 15 minutes to arrive. The café de la olla had a burnt taste. The chilaquiles were soggy and mushy. The arachera was good though, but everything was lacking salt. The service was even worse, we tried to get the waitress attention, but when we waved at her she would look away. My food included orange juice, but I had to remind her twice about it. I really can't recommend this place.

I just went in today with a friend to have breakfast. It took about 15 minutes before the waitress came with the menus. We ordered and waited another 20 minutes before our food arrived. That is not the worse part, when we began to eat I FOUND A HAIR IN MY FOOD! I went to tell the waitress and the cook in the back and all they did was laugh. No apologies, no offer to get me something else.....no one mentioned anything to us. I waited until my friend ate and then asked for the bill. Once the waitress brought the check she did not say anything to me about the hair in my food. Obviously they did not charge me for the plate with hair in it but, again, it seemed to me like the least they could have done was appologize for the incident. I will NEVER go back there again and will let as many people as I can know what a terrible experience I went through at...
