We ate here twice this last Cancún trip. Location and atmosphere is why we like to eat at local authentic restaurants. It was cash only, so be prepared. The grilled fish is amazing, but it takes a very long time to reach th table. Both nights the rest of us were finished before it arrived. But, we aren’t complaining, the view and sea breeze was welcomed. Try the guacamole-so good and authentic, unlike what chain restaurants try to change to make it ‘better’. Bathrooms were clean, and so was the silverware. But, we were sitting on a sandy ‘bach’ area, but I don’t recall having me grit of sand in my food or mouth, so that’s a win. If you like local, fresh, and rustic food with a great location, give it a try. The prices were great to, racially considering what the tourist place and hotel...

Food was okay but had a misunderstanding with waiter about order. I ordered the Tikin Xic and my wife the fried fish. Waiter brought out a tray of 2 option and asked which we wanted. I understood we each got to choose so we both chose the Mero (grouper). Next thing you know we get 3 plates… mine and 2 orders of the fried grouper. I quickly let him know there’d been a mistake and I didn’t want two main courses. He said ok and offered no option but for us to pay for his failed communication. Left frustrated and due to cash only policy had to exchange dollars at their terrible rate to pay. Bad experience that would never occur at a decent place. Will never come back...

FIRST... they do not take credit cards. The "notice" is incredibly small and only at one of their entrances that I could find on a very inconspicuous sign. The bathroom looks like something worse than you would find in a back-road gas station...

Other than that, the food was very reasonably priced and everything was very good! The fresh juice is simply not to be missed! The service people seemed very nice, but in the 2 hours here, we had very minimal interaction...

Also, did I mention the credit cards?... and the nearest ATM is a 35min walk due south... possibly adding over an hour to your lazy...

We wanted to have one last quick meal before hitting the airport. There wasn't much open around our airbnb, so after a short walk came across Kulkucan. There was no one there and it seemed unimpressive, but by this point we were hungry. We ordered and all our food came out pretty quickly! To our surprise everything was DELICIOUS. My friend ordered fried shrimp and I ordered the hangar steak. It was so flavorful and aside from a little fat here and there, was tender & juicy! The rice & beans were yummy and the guacomole was fresh and also really good.

I know that no one will see this, but in case someone actually does, this is the best ceviche I’ve ever had in my life. I’m not from here, we went to mass next door, and the ceviche and seafood here is the best I’ve ever had BY FAR. They cooked an Amberjack that was just caught in front of us… if you’re looking for AUTHENTIC seafood this is it, it’s also reasonably priced.
