Terranostra- Hotel Nizuc — Restaurant in Cancún

Tucked away behind the mangroves where the birds chirp and the sunsets is terranostra. Walking in you are greeted by an excellent hospitality group that will bend over backwards for you. You have the option to sit outside or inside which both are excellent options. To the right is the open kitchen and in front sits the fresh Italian meat and the most impressive is the leg of prosciutto (unfortunately did not have it on this trip). The waiters were attentive and gave wonderful recommendations. The insalata d'uva was pairs perfectly with the Gorgonzola dressing and balsamic reduction. Even better was the insalata d'asparagi which may have been one of best asparagus dishes I have had. The first thought of oranges with asparagus may be odd but just trust the chef and jump in. The Quattro formaggi may not sound that like a home run from the menu but with the copa and the smoked provolone the flavor is lifted to a place where you are wishing for a couple more bites as the dish comes to an end. The pavlova was just the right amount of sweet to end the night. Overall a very welcoming and well thought out experience and I would recommend if you have the time to stop by.

Terra Nostra, italian restaurant inside Nizuc Hotel. It is good if you have cravings for italian food as it will satiate your hunger but taste wise it won't blow your mind and for that price you can get better. Ambience wise it is very nice. I tried the Mushrooms Risotto with truffle which lacked from truffle and the rice was well cooked but flavour wise it was plain. Gnocchi with four cheeses was very good. Terra Nostra is an Italian restaurant located within Hotel Nizuc in Cancun QR. It is our first visit to the restaurant and we had a wonderful experience. Food and service are impeccable. We tried the wagyu beef carpaccio, all meat pizza, grape salad, quattro formaggi, pasta and pappardelle. The restaurant is set in a beautiful setting overlooking the mangroves and the canal.
