I’m already missing the epic adventure we took with @princesscruises last month! 🙃 We talked about it for ages, but finally decided bite the bullet and book a 19-day cruise from L.A. to New York through the Panama Canal. We stopped in so many amazing places along the way. Each port of call was beautiful and unique in its own way, and I’ll never forget the experiences we had at each of them! Here’s what we did. 🇲🇽 Mexico Mazatlán - Hike to the Faroe Lighthouse. We got one of the best Mexican dishes I’ve ever had in the old city of Mazatlàn. Aguachiles!!! Puerto Vallarta - Jungle Adrenaline Adventure. One of the best excursions of the trip! Zipline through the jungle and rappel down stunning waterfalls. Huatulco - Snorkeling with beautiful tropical fish. 🇨🇷 Costa Rica Puntarenas - Sloth sanctuary and aerial tram. This excursion was okay. There were some cool animals. But the aerial tram left a lot to be desired. I’d pick a different excursion next time! 🇵🇦 Panama Fuerte Amador & Full Canal Transit - Estuary tour in Gatun Lake. Wild monkeys jumped in our boat and ate bananas right out of our hands! 🇨🇴 Colombia Cartagena - National Aviary, and we explored the walled city independently. Get face-to-face with awe-inspiring birds. The walled city of Cartagena, a UNESCO world heritage site, is so colorful it feels like a fairytale. A must-see city!!! 🇧🇸 Bahamas Princess Cay - Sting Ray encounter, where you get up close and personal with incredibly friendly sting rays! We sailed on the Emerald Princess — a crown class ship in Princess’ fleet. The food, entertainment, and staff were all excellent! What is the most fun/exciting cruise you’ve done? Have you ever considered a Panama Canal cruise before? I’d do it again in a heart beat! 😉 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #panamacanalcruise #cruise #cruiselife #cruisetime #cruiseblogger #princesscruises #princesscruiseline #emeraldprincess #princesspartner #comefeelthelove

El Muchacho Alegre is a staple Mazatlán restaurant on the Malecón. It may be the most popular one to visit. First thing you should expect is a wait to get in. Probably a good 20/30 minutes. There is always a wait anytime in the afternoon till it closes. Second thing you should expect is the menu is almost all seafood. Very little of anything else, but the seafood is all excellent. From tuna tostadas to shrimp and pulpo/octopus ceviches. Third thing to expect is the loud music, and by loud I mean you can barely hear the person at the table across from you. That all being said, the place is always alive and fun and a great time. It truly is a Fiesta atmosphere. The staff are all super nice and friendly, service once you are inside is relatively fast and the good comes out hot and tasty. If you are lucky enough to get a table in the back, the view of the ocean is always amazing, especially at sunset. I highly recommend this place for a fun time out. Don't take a first date here unless you plan on doing tequila shots and dancing all night rather than talking.

Very bad experience at this place, the only thing I liked about this place was our food-waiter who was very helpful on the second floor, very friendly, kind, attentive and professional....the food was vaery bad, but as we ate we talked to the band so that we could pay them for an hour of songs, the water was informed and told it wouldn't be a problem, but we would have to move down to the first floor and we said, okay, not a problem, but when we got to the 1st floor was when it all changed and the water there on the first floor came to us in a very rude maner and asked; "WHY RE YOU SITTING HERE, WHO ALLOWED YOU TO SIT HERE, THESE TABLES ARE NOT FOR YOU, THEY ARE FOR OTHER PEOPLE"? Then he came a second and a third time and said we had to eat if we wanted to sit at that table next to the band....so my friend again explained to him the situation while we were consuming beverages, but then a female waitres came and bangs her hand on the table and said; "YOU HAVE TO EAT TO SIT HERE THIS IS NOT A CANTINA AND THESE TABLES ARE RESERVED FOR OTHER PEOPLE!!", very, very rude, infront of everyone and made me feel like I had stolen something.....I will never, ever go back ther agan and will tell everyone that I know never to go eat at this establisment!! I only give then 1 star for the water who server...

It’s been a year since I went and they treated me horrible when we were seated, they ignored us for a good amount of time then when they brought the food, they didn’t check on us at all after that. After we ate dinner I was trying to get the check from them, they will pass by me like if I wasn’t there, my little kids went to play on the beach maybe another 10 minutes passed. I asked them again for my check again . They wouldn’t return until my kids started crying and being fuzzy my youngest she’s 5 She was tired of being in that place. I told the waitress that I needed my check so I can remove myself from there and she looked at me like I was crazy and kept on walking. My mom got up and asked for the manager then before the Manager got to our table, the waitress got a hold of him and he was also Making us wait after he talked to the waitress, he looked at us and ignored us once again When he finally gave us our check, my mom gave him 2000 pesos. They didn’t bring her back the change. My mom waited for her change, but they never brought it. When my mom asked about to change. They said that they thought it was the tip that they usually get. They told my mom to wait a little longer. My Mom said, I cannot wait. Another 30 minutes. They practically made her tip they kept the change. That they...

We chose this place because it came highly recommended by many people. (A lesson learned: just because something is popular doesn’t mean it’s good). We paid $1,250 MXN per person for the New Year’s Eve dinner, and drinks weren’t included. Eight of us arrived right on time at 9:00 PM. By 9:15, we were served the first course (shrimp cream soup, which was excellent). However, the second course wasn’t served until 11:30 PM, forcing us to eat in a rush so we wouldn’t miss the New Year’s countdown.

The staff’s service was incredible and very friendly. (I don’t commend this because that’s how it should always be—it’s nothing extraordinary). Unfortunately, the rest of the food didn’t come close to the quality we’d experienced during our 10-day trip at other small, local restaurants and eateries. It was a BRUTAL disappointment!

We asked for the bill at 12:25 AM, but it didn’t arrive until 1:35 AM. I was shocked to see that such a large restaurant only had three card machines. After much back-and-forth—and with our Uber waiting outside for several minutes (at an additional cost, of course)—they had the audacity to try charging us as if everything had been flawless.

In the end, we only tipped the waitstaff for bringing us drinks, as they genuinely deserved it. Anyone less assertive or unfamiliar with proper service standards might have been pressured into paying the full service charge. When we pointed out the restaurant’s failures to the staff, they had no choice but to politely acknowledge them.

I strongly recommend supporting smaller local spots with better service, a more welcoming attitude, and even better prices. This experience was a huge letdown. LIKE EATING SEAFOOD WHEN YOU HAVE A SHELLFISH ALLERGY! I DON’T RECOMMEND THIS...
