Restaurante Playa Norte — Restaurant in Sinaloa

Restaurnte Playa Norte is one of many restaurants on the Malecon with the Palapa style roofs right on the beach with ocean views. This restaurant did have great views and was in a great location. Nevertheless, those are the only good thing I can say about this restaurant. The meal that was ordered consisted of a shrimp ceviche with minced seafood, chicken fajitas and guacamole. The shrimp ceviche was not fresh, it was warm despite it being a cold dish, the shrimp was not cleaned well and some still had parts of the shell on them. The minced fish was inedible. The chicken fajitas were OK at best, but the guacamole was actually quite nice. The service was slow, the drinks were not very tasty and the menu did not have any English translation despite being in a super touristy area. Please save your money and go elsewhere. The food was disgusting, greasy, and overpriced! I couldn’t even eat any of my three fish tacos, because the tortilla was cold and soggy and everything just fell apart so I ended up eating the fried fish which wasn’t even good. The only mediocre plate we had was the quesadilla and I mean it’s hard to mess that up. After we managed to force the food down we ordered the check, and they tried to overcharge us $800 pesos! Ahora entiendo por qué el lugar estaba vacío: nadie en su sano juicio querría comer ahí. El servicio es una burla. Los meseros ignoran a los clientes como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor por existir, y encima se molestan si compras algo al ambulante… que por cierto, atiende mil veces mejor y con más ganas. La comida, un desastre total: sin sabor, sin condimentos, sin alma. Pedí una sopa de mariscos y me trajeron lo que parecía agua sucia de trastes.

El ambiente es otro engaño. Estar junto al mar y al monumento suena bien en papel, pero en la práctica es decepcionante, incómodo y ruidoso. El precio es un insulto: cobran como si sirvieran alta cocina, pero lo que ofrecen no lo salva ni una fondita de paso.

Este lugar no vale ni tu tiempo ni tu dinero. Ojalá hubiera leído las reseñas antes de caer en esta trampa turística. Me hubiera ahorrado el coraje y el mal...
