La Mona Pizza — Restaurant in CENTRO

UPDATE: I have since dined in and the service was exceptional! The La Hijos del Tomate salad was fresh, flavorful, and a good portion size. After dinner, my mom ordered a liqueur, but because earlier she had asked for her mojito to not be too sweet, the server double-checked that she knew that the liqueur would be on the sweet side -- very thoughtful.

The pizza and wings here are really good. The crust is crisp, thin, slightly charred, and has a great chew. It has the perfect amount of sauce, toppings, and cheese, in my opinion. We usually get a build your own with Italian sausage, fresh basil, and some veggies.

The wings are small, but crispy, tender, and perfectly cooked, and they give you a good amount. I have tried both the buffalo and barbecue and they were very tasty. They are not very saucy, which I really like... especially when getting delivery. And they have blue cheese dressing!

One time we had made a mistake with the address when ordering, and the driver went out of his way calling us multiple times so that he could get our pizza to us. When he showed up, he still had a great attitude despite the inconvenience to him. I have never dined in but have gone in to place an order to-go. Service was very good, and the place was clean and had a nice vibe. It is a little pricey for the amount of food that you get, but it is worth it every once in a while given the taste...

We frequent the Centro location on a regular basis; its just around the corner. Pizza is a thin crust type. The crust is very good. Decent variety of toppings. Some are better than others, depending on what you like. They go little light on the tomato sauce, which might be an issue for folks who like a sauce heavy pizza. Beer and wine selection is similar to most venues in town. The do carry Tres Isla but it seems to sell out fast. Good place to watch sporting events. Think Superbowl and World Baseball...

From the moment we were greeted at the front door, we felt at home in this old Ford Motor manufacturing plant. Beautifully converted into a young local's hip pizza/pasta/salad place, La Mona's beer is cold, chicken wings saucy and thin crust pizza delectable. Terrific service throughout.
