La Tradición Palenque — Restaurant in Chiapas

Google Maps led me here as I was looking for an iced latte and honestly, it's my fault for not actually checking the menu and just trusting the search results since they don't have it. However, the waitress should have told me that they didn't have iced lattes when I ordered it! So, they brought me a glass of room-temperature coffee without even any ice in it, and I'm sure anyone who's drank cooled down coffee knows how bad it tastes. And the cherry on top is that the drink cost me 120 pesos! That I had to pay even though I only took two sips of the coffee and it wasn't what I ordered! The only place I've ever paid that much for coffee is the Nordic countries, and it's definitely double what I've paid for the exact same order elsewhere in Mexico.

Loved the vegan options here, had both the waffles and the tostada multiple times. Also recommend the fresh fruit waters (we loved the melon) and the cheesecake for non vegans. The tostada was one of the tastiest things I’ve eaten in Mexico and I regretted not getting it sooner! Absolutely amazing food for a reasonable price, with tasty vegan and vegetarian options! We went there for breakfast and dinner since the food was great (also pretty arranged on the plates) and the staff is super friendly and helpful and speaks very good english! They have lots of different kind of vegan milk alternatives (almond, soya, coco..) and a great breakfast menu with very delicious vegan waffles (and even fresh pressed orange juice).
