Degá — Restaurant in Chihuahua

The restaurant is the Quality Inn hotel’s restaurant but it’s also open to the public. They have an à la carte menu and the breakfast buffet currently costs $250 mxn, which is good value when you see the range of Mexican food on offer. However… everything is served by the staff like a school canteen and not open for you to help yourself. If you’re a control freak like me and struggle with Spanish, it’s extremely frustrating and creates a queue and delay. They bake fresh bread and pastries behind the counter but where does it go? Are you expected to know and ask for that, too? It’s certainly not put out for consumption. I left with a full tummy but also disappointed that it wasn’t the relaxed breakfast experience I was hoping for. I would be livid if I were a hotel guest and had to do this every morning. To my big mistake I had dinner 3 times at Dega during my stay at the quality inn hotel. Only once did me and my table have a decent experience. The service is slow and everytime we waited a long time before our food arrived. When we finally received what we had ordered, the fries were cold and the filet mignon and hambuerguesa overcooked. Los empleados de cocina, de mostrador, y quien parece ser el jefe de meseros, tuvieron un excelente servicio. No obstante, me parece super mal que hubiera solamente un mesero atendiendo todas las mesas (había más de 10 en ese momento) pues aunque sea un lugar de desayuno buffet, existen muchas actividades por hacer, tipo servir café, recoger platos, traer una simple 'periquera' ubicada a dos metros de distancia de nuestra mesa, entregar la cuenta, entre otras, que no se vieron cubiertas de la manera adecuada por la persona que nos estaba atendiendo. Ni siquiera la cuenta nos traía, y la verdad, me daba más vergüenza a mí pedirle las cosas varias veces, que a él sonreír y hacer como que nos iba a hacer caso esta vez. De hecho nos hizo sentarnos cerca de las mesas que ya estaba ocupadas para que él no tuviera que caminar tanto.
