Casa Rangel Comedor Social — Restaurant in Colima

I am a bit torn after having had dinner here with friends. The food (a bit too fancy, trying too hard) was good and they also made sure our friend got a dish she could eat considering her preferences. But it all felt like they lost a bit authenticity. Everything should have been great, the table-side prepared Ceasar salarld, the steaks, the tune....and still, it felt out of place for Manzanillo.

The personalized service led to staff being a bit overwhelmed and slow.

The space is beautiful and I like the simple and clean design. Very cute.

I will try this place again as it is quite unique...

Loved everything about this place! The ambiance, service and most importantly the food. Every dish we had was delicious with thought out flavor combinations. My favorite dishes were the carpaccio, aguachiles, clam chowder soup, picaña and the ribeye. The cocktails were also wonderfully crafted with my personal favorite 19/23. La experiencia valió la pena porque la casa es preciosa, y la restauración y decoración minimalista de muy buen gusto. Sin embargo, me parece muy sobrevaluado para la calidad gastronómica que ofrecen en realidad: el pulpo estaba francamente duro, los camarones sabían demasiado refrigerados, cosa imperdonable para un restaurante que está junto al mar. La fruta e infusión de mi bebida también sabía a que tenía muchos días en el congelador, aunque el mesero, muy amable, tuvo a bien cambiármela.

Aunque su carta es demasiado breve y ningún platillo nos impresionó en realidad, el Sushi estaba bastante rico y bien hecho, y tienen el detalle coqueto de servir la crema de almeja (que apenas cumple) dentro de su tradicional hogaza de pan. La ensalada y pan de masa madre sí valen la pena, y la carta de vinos es de las más amplias y variadas que se puedan encontrar en todo Colima. Definitivamente,...
