My wife and I tried this spot last Tuesday. We'd been out shopping and while it was too early for dinner and too late for lunch (3pm) they still accommodated us like we were family.
We split a starter of empanadas (one beef, one corn) and they were fantastic! So good, in fact, that we agreed that these and a salad would make a satisfying meal.
We split the Caesar salad; it was composed of cool, crisp greens, dressed perfectly. Again, with something from the appetizer menu, this would have been a perfect light meal.
We split a 'Queztal' pizza. It fell just short of perfection because it was the tiniest bit undercooked (and this was our fault, because of the early hour the wood-fired oven obviously wasn't up to full heat yet). Ample toppings, thin, crispy crust. Really tasty.
And we split a fettuccine carbonara. Again, just the tiniest bit short of perfect, as it's pretty typical of Mexican kitchens to slightly overcook the pasta. But the sauce was creamy and delicious.
The service was absolutely perfect: Always there when we needed attention, but not hovering.
We highly recommend Buhardilla, and consider ourselves now to...
Read moreWe received excellent service and great food in multiple past visits however always seems to be some sort of mix up with reservation however they were able to accommodate our group. Different story Feb 25/23. Reservation made via website three weeks prior with follow up telcal to confirm two days prior. Arrived with our overseas family visitors (including two young children) for our 5:30pm meal that was to be one of the highlights of their visit. No record of reservation, no tables, “sorry, can’t help you”. Apparently website reservation portal not monitored. Disappointed and disillusioned to say the least. Highly recommend making reservation in person, seeing it written in their book and take photo. Fortunately our good friends at Tonitos 1 accommodated our group of eight on a busy...
Read moreWe were so impressed with everything about this restaurant- a well groomed, well-spoken waiter greeted us, we received very fresh bread immediately, and then had to choose from a dazzling selection of dishes. We chose the handmade ravioli, it was From Heaven, filled with shrimp, spinach, goat cheese, etc and in the most delectable white sauce. We also had the roasted cauliflower, an entire cauliflower roasted then served piping hot in a special savoury cheese sauce. Wow!! Healthy and filling. Also a Caesar salad was just right, and a lovely Argentinian wine. Dessert was also outstanding, French style crepes with a caramel filling and a nice fruit topping, the perfect texture and presentation. I would make a trip back to Guayabitos just for La Buhardilla! And all for...$600 pesos,...
