We arrived at Soku for a birthday. Let's start by saying that the place feels very comfortable and the atmosphere is pleasant and fresh. Upon arrival, the girls greeted us very friendly and showed us to our table. The waiter cordially introduced himself and pointed out the QR code where we could check the menu. Here comes my first observation: the QR code, while modern, isn't the most convenient way to choose your dish, as the field of vision is very limited. We had a hard time getting two physical menus. Also, although the surrounding atmosphere was impeccable, several of us were greeted with chipped and broken plates (photos attached). This seemed in very poor taste to me: what message are they sending to their guests with this?... consider it. We each ordered our own dishes, and we all had to start eating after one of a family member's dishes arrived 30 minutes after the others: This was quite disappointing, as it was also a salmon that arrived raw in the center. I must also say that everything else was quite good and the presentation of the sushi was excellent. In the end, I must say the manager realized this and offered us an apology and a complimentary pastry, which we appreciated. However, I do consider these points critically improvable, and I know they will because the manager displayed a grieved, apologetic attitude, fully intent on making up for the bad experience. We will return, and I hope this time I will give a...

¡Imposible platicar, imposible estar a gusto!

I believe this concept is completely different from the teppanyaki restaurants I’ve known in Mexico, especially in the Bajío region. It’s a place that aims to stand out by creating an atmosphere that contrasts with the overly pretentious and formal style we typically see in teppanyakis. As for the food, I think they’ve done an excellent job blending authentic flavors with Mexican influences—the fusion of flavors is absolutely outstanding and unique.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to upload photos, but I enjoyed teppanyaki tacos, a delicious salmon dish, rolls, nigiris, sashimis, and a cookie that doesn’t have a strong matcha flavor but is absolutely delightful. Another great aspect is that even if you’re not a fan of Japanese cuisine, you can still come here and enjoy other options from the menu.

I’ve heard they’ll soon be introducing a salt-crusted fish dish, and we eagerly await this new addition to the menu. The ambiance is great, but the service could improve slightly in...

I had a great experience at Sōko. No issues at all with service. However, I did notice at 3pm there were about 12 tables that sat down all at once. I was dining at the sushi bar and was watching the intricate ams time consuming preparations. I'm sure if 40 sushi rolls were ordered all at the same time it might slow down service a bit. I will say the horse head mackerel ceviche is the best seafood dish I've had in seven years in Mexico. All my food was very good and the wine list was pretty great as well. Maybe just avoid 3pm or 8pm if you are in a big rush.
