Okay, buckle up, because I'm about to unleash the culinary love letter El Mediterráneo in Zihuatanejo deserves!
Forget everything you think you know about vacation dining – this place rewrites the rulebook. Seriously, rewrites it.
First off, the location is absolutely prime. You're right in the heart of all the Zihua action, so the energy is buzzing, but El Mediterráneo manages to create this oasis of calm within the excitement.
Do you crave the vibrant pulse of the city? Grab a table on the terrace and soak it all in. Feeling something a little more intimate? The courtyard is pure magic – a tranquil escape with lush greenery and a seriously romantic vibe. Honestly, they've nailed the ambiance. It's that perfect blend of sophisticated and relaxed, where you can dress up or down and feel completely at home either way.
Now, let's talk about the food. Oh. My. Goodness. Prepare your taste buds for a flavor explosion. Every dish is a masterpiece, crafted with fresh, local ingredients and a touch of culinary genius. I'm still dreaming about the tuna sashimi, or if you haven't been, something like fettucini Alfredo in white wine sauce.
The flavors are so vibrant and authentic, it's clear that the chef pours their heart into every single plate. And the presentation? Forget about it! Each dish is a work of art in itself.
Beyond the incredible food and the dreamy setting, the service is top-notch. The staff is warm, welcoming, and incredibly attentive. They anticipate your needs before you even ask, and they're always happy to offer recommendations or share their passion for the cuisine. It's clear they genuinely care about creating a memorable dining experience for every guest.
Honestly, El Mediterráneo isn't just a restaurant; it's an experience. It's the kind of place you'll remember long after your tan fades and your vacation ends. It's the kind of place you'll crave, the kind of place you'll recommend to everyone you know who's heading to Zihuatanejo. If you're looking for an unforgettable meal in a truly special setting, look no further.
El Mediterráneo is an absolute must-try. Five stars? They deserve a whole galaxy! Just go. You...
Read moreI had dinner with my family in this place. The huachinango was actually good. But I am rating one star for the terrible experience we had with the owner.
We ordered a couple of tuna carpaccios and the tuna came frozen. Like it still had ice with it. We politely asked to have a proper tuna carpaccio and the owner came to our table to explain to us that that's the way the dish is served and that we basically weren't experts. We were really surprised with his pretentiousness. He didn't even try the dish as he insisted that he "knew" how a carpaccio should be and we were wrong. It was hilarious for me cause it's literally the first time ever I get a frozen carpaccio
The incident went on for another 7 minutes of him not accepting the mistake that the kitchen made. His attitude was rude and disrespectful towards me and my family.
Not visiting the place ever again. I'm sorry for the people working...
Read moreWhat a fantastic dining experience. Hadn't been to this restaurant for 4 years prior to Covid times. Decided on a dining night out in Zihua and happened to walk by El Mediterraneo while looking for a place to dine. We remembered the place and decided to walk in. Lovely surprise to be seated by the same waiter from 4 years ago. He actually remembered us (not by name of course) and allowed us to pick our seat on street side. We both ordered Margeritas a pasta dish, ceasar salad, desert and wine. Fabulous friendly service. Absolutley the best pasta we've had in Mexico this year. Thank you Valdo for your great service . Awesome dining and evening out in...
