La Porteña Pizza & Grill — Restaurant in Guerrero

We went here 3 times as the first time the meat was excellent. The second time we ordered a medium filet mignon and it came very rare (raw), not the end of the world but not what we ordered. So the 3rd time I ordered a medium/well filet mignon in the hope that it would be a little less raw this time. Our dishes arrived after about an hour of waiting, 3 of us ordered steak and chips of varying cuts, they were all completely annihilated as were the fries. It was like trying to eat a shoe, so dry and tough. I made the observation to the waiter and he said as we had already eaten a bit (a couple of bites) there was nothing he could do. We ate as much as we could as we were hungry and had been waiting a fair while. The manager never came over and we were billed in full. Quite disappointed in our meal. We wanted a really nice piece of fresh fish, and since it was near the pier, thought this was a good bet. Good atmosphere, a rotation of wandering musicians playing for tips. Bad margaritas, touristy big glasses with lots of filler mixer. Calamari app was subpar. The catch of the day, mahi mahi, was smothered in an almond cream sauce that I can only describe as disgusting, couldn't eat it. The snapper was good, vegetables and potatoes good. Nice service. Heard great things about this place. We were a little let down. I did try the octopus which wasn’t bad. I have nothing to compare it to but can cross it off my bucket list. My partner’s rib eye was not so great. More on the blue side than med-rare. The service was not very attentive. They were quite busy so perhaps this affected the food...
