Lovely restaurant in Troncones with exceptional food. Our first time in Troncones and we stumbled upon this place after touring the area a bit. Just stopped in for drinks, decided to include a couple appetizers. Very delicious, fresh, made to order, authentic Mexican food. Is it fast food? No, far from it. Worth the wait? Absolutely. We loved the place, the proprietors and the food so much, we went back the next day. Definitely worth the drive down from Zihua!

If you are the impatient sort who complains incessantly if you have to wait more than a few minutes for anything, this may not be the restaurant for you. Personally, I don't mind a bit of a wait if the food is worth it. This is a small, family run place that clearly puts a lot of heart and soul into their food. Yes, the wait might be a little longer, especially if it's busy and/or you have a large group. Pepina margaritas are simply amazing. We talked with the owner Isabel who is so lovely and bought an entire gallon. We’ve tried multiple dishes and they are all cooked to perfection. The “la Mexicana” is so delicious. The octopus and fish are so very good. Every dish, sauce, and item is completely made from scratch and it truly shows. Getting a little tired of the typical Coastal Mexican food menu but still want to try the local Mexican cuisine? Then you should come to this restaurant. I would call the menu at La Mexicana "Elevated Coastal Mexican".
