This was our first time at Palma Grand and we had a really lovely dinner here. What we discovered was a fantastic family owned restaurant in Zihuatanejo centro. It's set back in a courtyard so traffic and other distractions aren't really an issue. It was nice that the owner of this restaurant speaks english much better than we speak Spanish. The margaritas are very reasonably priced and aren't the standard sugary ones we've had elsewhere. The mango was fresh. Also the grande size didn't cost much more that the regular size. They were much better than the sugary juice margaritas we've been served at many other places. We were originally thinking that for we'd have tacos or burritos, however the prices were VERY reasonable and the fresh caught tuna and a combination mixed skewer were recommended.  Based on our experience with the delicious margaritas we went with his recommendations. We weren't disappointed. The meals were cooked perfectly and didn't require any additional salt or flavoring. The small portion of pasta served with the meal was quite good. We may order one if the pasta dishes when we go there next time. And there will be next time!

Off the beaten path, what you look for in a traditional local establishment. The mom is the cook and the flavors are traditional, her cooking is exceptional. Very friendly. Her daughters are there serving to ensure that your dining experience is everything you’d want it to be. Super fresh food, homemade, prices are extremely reasonable. I ordered the Pescado Vera Cruz and it was delicious. Local caught in super fresh. Wife ordered pollo tacos, came with some great Stone Corn tortillas. If you’re looking for top notch food quality and a great atmosphere, there’s a reason why this has almost 5 stars across the board. Thank you to La Familia for the great experience and food.

There are many good restaurants in Zihuatanejo but this is one of the best meals I had anywhere in Mexico. Everything we tried was elevated above your typical Mexican restaurant. Desayunos, juices, stuffed chicken, burritos, fish in cilantro sauce. We went several times after we found Palma Grande because everything was so good.

We stumbled upon this lovely restaurant when we were super hungry and on the hunt for Desayunos. We came to discover that this restaurant is run by Octavio, his lovely wife, and his two daughters, whom are all so very friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately they did not have breakfast on the menu, but Octavio’s wife happily made me a vegetarian omelette with toast and fruit. It was very filling, to my satisfaction, as I have quite a large appetite. Their youngest daughter, Rosario kept us company while we ate and it allowed us to practice our Spanish, she is so sweet! Octavio also speaks some English and their prices were very affordable. It was so good that we came back the very next day for lunch and they absolutely spoiled us with loads of food, which was delicious! We were so grateful, we thanked them immensely and they seemed very appreciative of our patronage and were all smiles and filled with gratitude. If we were in zihuatanejo longer, we would frequent this restaurant more often but unfortunately only had so many days here. Excellent location too, located in Centro! Octavio even gave us his cell phone number in case we needed anything during our stay in zihuatanejo, which was much...
