Let me start off by saying. The Cabana Beach is 1 of 3 of the BEST decisions and excursions I've booked since traveling by cruise. If you're looking to avoid large crowds and kids, you better make a decision quickly. Cabana Beach is where you want to be. This hidden gem has limited space, so it is best to book early. We took a $12 taxi from CCL port to Chankanaab Beach Adventure Park main entrance. We were greeted by 2 friendly Cabana Beach employees to check in and walk us through Chankanaab to the private resort (min. 2- 5 mins). Defini we took the scenic route, which was amazing. Can I tell you, it was a crystal blue water for me. I can't remember if I waited for our hostess to welcome us (probably not) or if I went straight into the water. Everything you need to relax and have fun for the day. White sand beach, complimentary fruit, chips and salsa. Clean restroom/changing rooms, towels (if you forget your towel from the ship like me), fresh water showers, free guest wi-fi, bar, inexpensive restaurant. Not to mention, the cabanas that are the perfect size for small and medium-size groups include clean lounge chairs, sofa, fan to circulate cool air, and a small table, bar stool chairs, and nearby hamocks for an after nap. We had enough sun when we wanted it and enough shade we needed it. How can I forget swimming and snorkeling. We must have arrived at the perfect time or have been in the prefect spot. There were so many different fish to see. One fish, two fish, three fish, and more. Fish everywhere. Fish up close and fish in your face. It was an experience of a lifetime for a Sweet Georgia 🍑. Before leaving to return to our ship, we met the owner, who was extremely nice and gave us some history of the resort and island. I'm some glad we skipped the over commercialized beach clubs and resorts. If l'clubs and resorts. If l'm ever blessed enough to make this trip again, you know where to find me. I don't want to say too much out of fear that travelers will discover this little touch of...
Read moreWe went to The Cabana Beach resort in Cozumel as part of our cruise. We got off the ship early and got a taxi to take us to the resort. The taxi cost $20 from the cruise terminal to the resort, which is what I expected. The driver pulled right up to the entrance of the resort and we were greeted warmly by the resort staff. She showed us to our cabana. Our cabana was well equipped with a comfy couch and table and fan in the covered area and two great lounge chairs for when you wanted some rays or to dry off. We got lucky with the weather. It was 86 and sunny with a few clouds.
The resort was great. So clean and well kept. Landscaping was well kept. Bathrooms were clean. Our Cabana was perfect.
The service was top notch. As soon as we got to our cabana our waitress brought us cold waters. We brought the all inclusive package for food and drinks. The beer was cold and plentiful and the drinks were tasty.
We had nachos, beer battered fish tacos and skirt steak tacos. The fish tacos were divine. The food as a whole was delicious and portions were plentiful.
The owner came by to check on us and make sure we were being cared for properly, which I assured him we were.
Our cabana was 200 feet from Chakanaab Lagoon and they supplied the snorkeling gear. We went snorkeling and were not disappointed. Saw lots of tropical fish and enjoyed the water.
We left in the afternoon and they got us a taxi and bid us farewell.
Thank you Cabana Beach resort for a "perfect day". It was delicious and we will be...
Read moreWe enjoyed a wonderful day in our cabana. I could not recommend this place more highly. My family rented a house for the week and Juan Bacar described it to us and we had to go…
When we arrived, due to some construction/noise (before we even asked) they offered to upgrade us to a VIP cabana. This put us right in front of a wonderful senote. Susanna provided us excellent service, checking on us just enough, not too much not too little, just perfectly! We ordered the fish tacos and the ceviche. Both were excellent. We did not expect much from a cabana place, but this was wonderful food! Also the drinks were delicious and interesting. We wanted to try them all. The generous pour matched the hospitality of this place.
At one point, the owner/manager came by and gave us some history of the place, told us where it was safe to jump into the senote, and provided a warm welcome. He also cautioned us about the current at the senote, while we had many strong swimmers, I did notice once we jumped in there, a lifeguard came by to make sure no one got in trouble.
Snorkeling was terrific. Some of us used the provided equipment and it was functional. We saw many different fish and beautiful fan coral. There were plenty of hammocks and variety of ways to relax in this wonderful spot. Our time there raced by, we could not believe it was time to go. I wish I could’ve spent another day there and do hope I can come back quickly. Swimming in the senote was a wonderful experience I will...
