Overall the experience was good EXCEPT FOR ONE THING: avoid the “margarita” booth near the pool that sells drinks in these clay glasses. We got 2 drinks, and they said “the glass is free”, the sign says $11 each. After they made the drinks, I paid 600 pesos because I had 200 x 3 bills, expecting change for around 440 pesos (the conversion was $1 usd = 18.37pesos) the guy refused to hand me change and he said its 600 total. I asked why? He said, oh coz you got the glasses with paint. He CLEARLY did not specify that, I argued with him for a bit but it already soured the experience.
At this point, I also realized why they insisted on putting alcohol in the drinks even though we said we are not drinking alcohol and we just wanted a mocktail.
So since he refused to give my change, I said “you know what you did, take the 600, but you know what you did”. It’s people like him that ruin the reputation of this town. He definitely had that “fake resort niceness” and we were sad that we experienced that.
Everyone— from entrance, to the dolphin experience, sea lion show, and manatee encounter, were awesome. We even paid for the overpriced photos! $40 usd each, no problem! We were informed properly and we were entertained.
Again— avoid the margarita booth with these painted clay glasses. And oh if you see em, show them this review, LOL. My only regret is I was too upset earlier to take a pic of the booth or ask...
Read moreMy family and I have been here twice. Both times from a Carnival cruise. I cannot express how much I love this place. Never a dull moment. I wish we had more time to spend other than the 4+ hours given from a cruise. The water is crystal clear. We purchased an all you can eat and drink entrance. There’s so much going on. We absolutely love it. You can also rent snorkeling gear (which you would need! Highly recommend). The guys there will show you around if you are afraid and then let...
Read moreWe had a nice day on the beach and snorkeling, the service was great, the fish and shrimp tacos were good. HOWEVER, bring cash. Our $85 us food and drink bill turned out to be a $155. Charge on my credit card. I can't do anything about it, because I signed for the transaction, in pesos. If you use a card check the exchange rate before they run it. Turned out to be a very expensive day. I had nothing but great things to say before I checked my...
