This was the only thing I booked prior to coming to Cozumel. I booked based on the fantastic reviews, but the reviews were not what I experienced. We did not catch any fish to take home with us. This equated to a really expensive 6 hour boat ride with like 30 minutes of snorkeling at the end because we asked just to do something other than sitting on the boat. The deck hand mentioned trying to catch Marlin when marlin is not in season right now in Cozumel and we never asked to catch anything particular. Everything I read stated that reef fishing is the way to go this time of year and we fished the reef about 30 minutes before moving on to something else. The only fish we caught that we could have kept was thrown back in the water. This was a really disappointing experience for myself, my husband and our friends. This is not the review that I was hoping to leave nor the experience that I was...
Read moreOur group was looking forward to this fishing trip but we were sadly disappointed. The crew on the boat were nice enough but didn’t communicate with us what was going on — turns out there were no fish 🤷♀️ The crew spent over 2 hours catching bait with basically zero communication. After 3.5 hours of being hot and uncomfortable, we asked if WE were ever going to fish (you know, bait a hook, be handed a fishing rod, ANYTHING pertaining to US fishing)… nope! We were asked if we wanted to try reef fishing or go snorkeling, we opted for reef fishing since we paid to go fishing… after another really long boat ride to the reef, we caught 1 fish that the crew threw back in the water. We were promptly brought back to the marina after 6 hours of being hot, uncomfortable and very bored. This was a very expensive boat ride and a huge...
Read moreThe crew was very friendly and the boat was clean. The reason for the 2 star rating is more based on the fishing experience. I expected it to be either relaxing or exciting. It wasn't either one. The crew naturally can't control when the fish choose to bite. But you don't get to do a lot. They bait the line, hook the fish, allow you to reel it in, then they pull it up themselves. Maybe some people like that. But for us, it was 6 hours of a loud boat engine (94 decibels), high winds, no seats with backs (the 2 seats are only for reeling in), and a total of 10 minutes reeling in 3 small fish. It just wasn't what we expected. The fish were delicious, but expensive 😅 The crew tried (and probably spent a fortune in fuel)...but they brought us back 30 minutes early. Wouldn't...
