Been quite often, but their menu has changed. Eliminated some dishes which I liked or preferred, among them, Eggs Benedict or the Jamón Serrano Sandwich, and the Croque Monsieur are gone. Also raised the prices by $20 average, but was expected.
Ordered the "Tortilla con Papas" and it was good, but small-sized. No bread offered either.
Fairly good, but ran into a few rough spots. Claiming to be a "European Bakery" with breakfasts served.
As others have mentioned here, as "starters" they bring you two different sauces, one spicy, complimentary, as "amuse gueles" but no crackers, tortillas, tortilla chips, Breadsticks, tostinis or breads (this is a "European Bakery" after all) to spread them on. What are you supposed to do? Put them on a finger or use a spoon? If not, just don't offer them.
Had "Eggs Braun" for breakfast. (No longer offered.) A strip of Bacon, three thin slices of a "Frankfurter" Sausage, two eggs, black beans, but everything drowned in a watery sauce (Bechamel?). Would have been much better to either leave the sauce out, or put in on the side. I requested another cheese instead of "Cotilla" (I don't like it) and the waitress offered Gouda as a substitute, but none came with the dish. Slip-up here. Served in a cast-iron skillet.
Coffee ("Americano") was OK but no refills offered, even at extra cost.
Service slowed down as the time went by. Took an unusually long amount of time for the dishes to be served. Although waitress was more attentive at the beginning.
Had a "Chocolatin" (Pain au Chocolat) which was quite good, as well as a Croissant, even better. These were the best part of coming here.
Would give them another chance, but ask for another dish.
There is a cleared lot across the street, but once construction starts will be too noisy & dusty to sit outdoors, while going on. No construction...
Read moreI got here, told the hostess I needed a table for two, she “wrote” my name on the list and told me to wait. So far everything was ok. The hostess forgot about my party and let other 3 parties go in before mine did. It’s important to say all of these people arrived after my party did. I went up to the hostess, she said she would check. She then came back, called me the wrong name and let us in. Service came with a side of attitude from two of the waitresses working on the establishment. The food did arrive on a timely manner and was just OK at best. I then asked for the check, I got it and waited for the terminal. One of the waitress reminded the other that I was waiting for the terminal to pay. Then the other waitress waved her arm in a dismissive tone and so I would not get to pay any time soon. I ended up lifting my arm with the check and credit card on my hand to not be ignored anymore. A simple “We apologize, your name got mixed up in the list but we will let you in right away” would have sufficed and we could have avoided the awkwardness of the situation. I do not know what lead them to believe they could be so very rude to their customers, the way I dress, look or else.
In a nutshell. Food was ok and service was terrible. If you’re coming to the place I truly hope your experience is better than mine and good luck...
