Bruno's Restaurant Ajijic — Restaurant in Jalisco

Wow, honestly the BEST hamburger of my life, and I'm picky as an excellent cook myself. The pictures don't do it justice because we got there quite late in the evening and the light was low but this burger was a monster! Incredible flavor with some kind of magical elixir sauce, the crispiest most flavorful wedge fries EVER (few restaurants in the lakeside area seem to know how to do fries right) and a perfectly balanced limonade mineral with the exact right amount of sweet and tart flavors. We missed the crowds and had very prompt service with very friendly wait staff. Such an incredible value on Thursday evenings the two for one burger (currently 195 pesos for two burgers with fries) and on top of it we were able to utilize their taxi service for just 50 pesos round trip to pick us up and take us back home since we did not bring a car to Mexico. Our driver spoke excellent English and was safe and pleasant and what a super smart way to get people into your restaurant and make sure they get back home especially if they need a designated driver (you need to make a reservation for their taxi service I believe). The staff shared all the different specials including prime rib with a huge portion of high quality meat and I will be sure to bring my son here...

My wife and I were invited to go to Bruno's for their Tuesday prime rib special, We were excited because we loved Bruno's, There were six of us, we had reservations for 6pm, One of our party got there at 5:50pm and was seated, the rest of us arrived right at 6pm to find our friend sitting there, no one came and asked her if she needed anything, it wasn't until 6:25 ( I kid you not) that the server came to take a drink order, we were all having prime rib so we gave the server that order also, about 6:45 we had to go find out were are drinks were, after about 5 minutes four of us got our drinks, the other two in our party had to wait almost 10 minutes longer, It did look like they were under staffed but come on, almost an hour for all of us to get drinks, We ordered a second round at that time, same thing, four of us got ours and the same two friends had to wait, Finally dinner arrived, Not one plate was prepared as asked, it was cold, Two of the plates were barely edible due to gristle and being cooked wrong (went home to the dogs) The dogs thought it was fine. Anyway! like I said earlier we "Loved" Bruno's, Most likely none of us will ever be back, The wait staff and the kitchen staff all knew there were problems but not one...

This was our second visit to Bruno's. The first visit impressed us so much that I made reservations for the Saturday tomahawk steak dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. I used the Facebook page to reserve; and response was prompt, professional, and friendly.

Service at the restaurant was fabulous. Our waiter even noticed that the table wobbled a bit and fixed it right away. My only problem was that my husband was getting anxious when they got really busy and wanted to leave quickly. There was a small mix up with paying the bill that slowed us down a bit.

The margaritas were among the best we've had Lakeside. The steak was delicious and done exactly as we ordered it. We had a Caesar salad and mac and cheese as our side dishes. Each one was fabulous and more than enough to share. I'd go just to eat the mac and cheese.

I had let the staff know it was a birthday dinner, and they brought a slice of raspberry cheesecake with a sparkler and sang Happy Birthday.

The only reason I rated the food 4 rather than 5 was the amount of gristle in the steak. Not something that is easy for a restaurant to control. It wouldn't have bothered me as much if the knives had been...
