Karne Garibaldi is a large restaurant specializing in a delicious regional dish called "carne en su jugo" (beef in its broth) which consists of strips of beef served in a rich broth with some beans and bacon. It's like a hearty soup. Of course, it is served with fresh, hot tortillas, and you can order your choice of several sides, such as guacamole and chips, grilled green onions, quesadillas, queso fundido (with or without chorizo), etc. They are in the Guinness Book of World Records for the fastest service. ...and I believe it!

I used to come to this place very often 15 years ago when I lived in Guadalajara. Today I unapologetically said no more! I was served the most disgusting 'cesina' of my life which I obviously returned. Then I was told that as I ordered it, I had to pay for it. Ok, I thought that's the kind of service they have, no problem. Two minutes later I got my to-be-paid cesina to go, which surprised me; I reiterated that it was the worst jerky I have ever had in my life and I did not want it, to discard it and I would, although reluctantly pay for it. That wasn't enough I had to explain to 3 people in the restaurant why I did not want it so I asked for my check. Which came with items I did not order. This is a staple of Guadalajara. So if you are ever around the area or are visiting, you need to come try some authentic carne en su jugo. It's cheap and food is great. Just be advised that the big plate is actually big, so if you eat 'normal' order the small plate. I promise you will be satiated. And for dessert you have to, yes have to try the Jericalla. Just order the most burnt on top one. Service is great. Only downside is that when its full you do have to wait 15 to 20 mins for a table, specially if it's a big group. But come hungry and with a good attitude and you'll enjoy it! Side note, if you are a vegan, this is NOT the place for you! So don't even come and bother everyone...
