If you’re looking for a taco spot that delivers on every front, this iconic taquería is a must-visit. Known for its incredibly fast service, you’ll be enjoying your tacos almost as soon as you order them — perfect for late-night cravings or quick lunch breaks. Despite the speed, the quality never suffers. The tacos are consistently fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, with a variety of options to satisfy any taste.

One of the standout features is the impressive selection of drinks. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic soda, a refreshing agua fresca, or a made-to-order smoothie, they have something to hit the spot. Each drink is crafted with care, complementing the bold flavors of the tacos beautifully.

The atmosphere is just as noteworthy. It strikes the perfect balance between laid-back and vibrant, often buzzing with locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or hanging out with friends, the setting feels welcoming and full of energy.

What truly makes this place a standout is the unbeatable combination of variety, speed, and flavor. The wide selection of tacos—from traditional favorites to unique house specialties (cabeza and lengua) —means there’s something for everyone. Add in the impressive range of drinks, including sodas, smoothies, and aguas frescas, and you have a taquería that delivers a complete and satisfying...

I went to Taquería Los Alteños today, and I’m still dreaming about it. The al pastor tacos are easily some of the best I’ve ever had—if not the best. The whole process is SO fast—you get a ticket at the cashier, head to the taquero, and your tacos are ready in seconds.

I started with two al pastor tacos, and after tasting them, I couldn’t resist going back for four more. The perfect bite: al pastor, onion, cilantro, pineapple, guacamole, spicy green sauce, and lime. It’s a bite I’ll remember in my dreams.

I also had the quesadillas, and my vegetarian brother ordered them too (they are made in the same grill as the meat so keep that in mind). We both absolutely loved them. The cheese was perfectly melted, balanced, and so delicious.

There’s a serving table with guacamole, salsas, lime, pineapple, and more, so you can make your tacos exactly how you like them. The atmosphere feels authentic and local—it’s a truly special experience that captures the spirit of a taquería.

Bottom line: Los Alteños is a must-visit. Every time I come back to Guadalajara, I’ll make sure to stop here. These tacos and quesadillas are...

This is a VERY popular place. Service is fast and seating...and parking can be limited. However, with a little patience parking and seating will open up. Tacos are small, cheap, and tasty. The menu is very meat centric and includes not only chorizo, but also lengua and cabeza. The food is all grilled in front of you. There is a sense of speedy, organized chaos between ordering at the grill, jumping from line to line for different menu items, plates being passed over the grill..cutting thru another line to get your condiments..and then meandering through another wave of people to report your order to the cashier...on the honor system...be honorable.

There is a very symbiotic relationship with ice cream and smoothie shops next door. The ice cream shop brought samples into the restaurant while we were seated and the smoothie shop took our orders and brought the drinks to our Los Altenos table also. Los Altenos is an authentic stop for...

These tacos were 🔥🔥🔥 they were recommended by the valet guy at the hotel we were staying at. Super fast service and a variety of meats to choose from. They also had a plethora of sauces which all tasted great. The drinks were good as well I had the lemon water. In total I ate 6 tacos but I probably could’ve ate more than that because they were that good. Parking was a little limited and you can eat sitting down standing up, basically wherever you can find a spot. You pay once you’re done eating and it’s basically built on trust that there customers will pay but with tacos that good they know customers will pay and come back!!!

This my friends is the best taqueria in the PLANET! If you are a traveler and you are visiting my beautiful hometown of Guadalajara, then you need to head to this place immediately. This is a dreamland for tourist, not only do they serve the best Jalisco-style tacos in Guadalajara, they are very cheap and the service is fast and amazing. Is cheaper to eat 10 tacos here than 4 tacos in an average Mexican taco restaurant in the United States. Most tacos are half a dollar with the most expensive ones being one dollar each. You need to come here!! Hint; try the Jalisco-style tacos like Lengua and Carnaza, they are amazing!
