I probably shouldn’t have come here right after a trip to Korea lol but my fiancé and I were craving Asian food so bad that we came here because we were staying in Andares (and this place came highly recommended)
First off, this place is kind of difficult to find. It’s in the mercado Andares, up the escalator, on the second floor. The whole second floor is quite empty, especially for a Friday night. We were the only diners in the restaurant for a while.
I thought it was nice that the grill is inside the table. Reminded me of Korea :) of course, they’re nothing fancy..just normal gas grills and they don’t change out the grills like most KBBQ places in USA/Korea
The English support is quite limited. Our server was great though and definitely did his best. There was a language barrier and it took some Google translate to order our items. We ordered two things: the fried chicken and the KBBQ. I mean, those are the simplest things you cannot mess up right? Right??
Our fried chicken was cold on the inside. I bit into it and it was ice cold. There was so little chicken on the inside and so much breading that I couldn’t tell if the chicken was raw or if it was already precooked and refried. It wasn’t good.
Next, came our meat, which actually took a really long time to get to our table…despite it being literally RAW and we were the only diners in the whole restaurant. I did like the variety and plenty was of the banchan (side dishes) they were quite good. Our order came to our table wrong, we asked for the beef rib but it came as pork rib. So we received a three tier tray with all three being pork. We chalked it up to the language barrier and didn’t try to tell the server or add further confusion.
We didn’t finish half the meat because the quality wasn’t great. The pork was super chewy and dry. No fat at all. If you’re used to eating KBBQ in Korea or a major US city with a lot of Koreans, it’s a downgrade for sure. Don’t come in expecting that. Don’t come to Guadalajara in general expecting good Asian food lol
Anyway, the only thing that saved our experience was our server who did try his best to communicate with us. Other than...
Read moreThe dining experience was the worst in this trip, mainly because of the food, from the menu, as an Asian, I immediately realised the reviews on Google Map is lying. The noodles tasted like fast noodles thought on the menu it says it’s hand made, and just a drink and a noodle coated almost 500 pesos, the price in Mexico is really over priced. Besides, the toilet is just next to it!Emmmm, there is even...
